I love upcrate. It's been a while since I've gotten this art subscription box but they are one of my favs.

This white "pen" looks just like a POSCA marker with a fine nib to me (I'm referring to the PC-1M which I use for hard highlights). Really good for pure white highlights, not so much if you want some of the underlying color to show through a bit (depending on the material you try to represent). I personally use different white pens, mostly the POSCA reffered above and the Uni-ball Signo from Mitsubishi, as well as color pencil.

I have two different brands of paint markers (not poska) and one of them has a weaker and yellow tinted white and the other one is super opaque with a titanium white, and dual wielding them is king

OH MY GOSH! That fineliner was my favorite when I was in Japan! I bought so many (and was so sad when I moved back to the US and couldn't get them anymore). They're called the magic pens in the japanese stationery store I used to get them from because you can use them to outline before adding watercolor and the water won't smear them!

U do know there's a thing called India ink? I use it with dip pen, and not once has it smudge by adding watercolor or markers on top of it

Does that work well with alcohol markers, do you know? I was outlining today and then used my alcohol markers and I got lots of smudges. I do have this pen though, as I also got this box and now your comment is making me see it might be my solution. Thanks.

@@lozantoninocreations Yes, I mean you have to let it dry which takes a few minutes. But like in the video, you can go over it with alcohol markers. I've done so many pieces with it because I prefer to outline first then use markers or paint.

I got this box and I hadn't heard of the marker brand either and actually couldn't find any info online about them. I wasn't a huge fan as they didn't blend well for alcohol markers. Although I actually used mine with the pencils and went over the top of the pencil and it creates a beautiful pencil/marker blend, as it did smooth the pencil out. It was really pretty. The colours are very beachy, with some blues and and also sandy earth colours.
