The calendar is a step forward and Skmei's back lighting is always well above Casio's in their lower price ranges. But i'm going the other way with the Timex Boost you featured a few months back. I'm also looking at an Armitron Rubik that has an all metal case and mineral crystal for around US $35-40, i thing it's worth paying a little more for more than a little less for less in a digital. Maybe in a couple of years Skmei will use their pricing advantage to give us some affordable upscale pieces.

Just discovered ur channel, I'm a huge cheap watch collector! Love the skmei and smaels and armitron, just bought the casio 737, looks pretty cool, problem is I have so many black ones, and a few khaki or green or gray, this red white and blue is definitely unique! I may have to get it, love the reviews! But I need to stop all the impulse buying! Especially on the China online shopping app! So cheap, great video dude really enjoyable

Yes, I never understood those negative displays, they're really hard to read. Skmei will probably release a positive version later, though. Most of their models feature both options.

I agree. The obsession of digital watch makers with negative displays has become a real pain in the ass, they might look cool but are usually impractical as hell. It puzzles of why they stick to negative display when at the same time 90% of all negative reviews at Amazon are targeted at the poor legibility.

It's interesting that Skmei can incorporate a decent 24h timer while Casio annoys the hell out of their customers with a lousy 60 minutes timer (endless repeats don't help either). If Skmei ever manages to offer vibration alarms and an option to change the date from MM/DD to DD/MM they will have the power to send Casio into a world of hurt.

and where do you get information about the characteristics of skmei calibers? In particular about accuracy? I somehow could not find such information.

Check the manual that comes with a watch, on newer models manulas there is a accuracy info.

I disagree about the shortcomings. 1. Any additional function clutters up the menu, it takes longer to get to the desired mode. Not everyone needs double time, a timer, an alarm clock and a stopwatch are useful things in most cases, world time is less in demand, so for me this is a plus! 2. Plastic glass in this case is a small minus, since it is strongly recessed, the pronounced bezel perfectly protects it with small screen dimensions. On the 5600 homage for 3 years I could not scratch it. I agree with the rest: the black version is the best, huge, most importantly thick numbers are perfectly readable despite the inversion. Well done skmei, I have three of their watches. Last week I just bought a classic 1251 and a hybrid 2100. 2100 was generally amazed - digital synchronization of the analog time setting is absent even in the younger edifice & g-shock, but there is!

Sure some things are subjective ... For the Countdown timer is a must have function for me after the alarm function. The World time is nice to have, but not necessary. About the scratches once again it depends how you and where you wear it. Sure at this price point mineral should be too much....

Built quality looks a bit more plasticy than other skmei. That one screw in the middle is bugging me a lot. Other than that it's a good looking watch
