What an absolute legend. This episode was a real treat. Thank you Eddie for telling your story. Such a great American and I wish you nothing but the best and peace and tranquility in your post-service life. You've earned the right to be happy in your life now. 🤙 By the way, everyone should subscribe to Eddie's podcast Operator Debrief. I found him by chance a while back and he gets some great guests.

A guy from my PD, left the department after 9/11 and joined the Army, to be a Special Operations Ranger. He showed us pictures of himself, and he looked like the enemy, in the poppy fields. He was gone for a long time during the GWOT, he than returned to the PD. He made out SWAT team into Rangers. He finished his career as a Lieutenant. 🇺🇸 👮🚓🚔🚨

When he says Martin and “them”, I’m gonna assume he means Kevin Martin? Cause that guy’s a legend. Still runs the JTAC program now for us USASOC 13As/13Fs

@1:07:29 They’re talking about the UK SFSG. The SAS and SBS took the Ranger JSOC support template and made an organization that would be a in house, enabler unit to SAS and SBS missions (rather then being utilized ad-hoc.) The SFSG was actually almost called a Ranger Regiment when it was stood up in 2005-06.

As I have been sitting here watching this my Mother has been eavesdropping, and she started to unravel some of my (RIP) uncle's claims... a lot of these elements show that he went Ranger much earlier than he had ever told his sister or brothers.

As a former 2/75 RGR the comments about being the first or when BN first started doing something didn't happen in the late 90's. I served from 86-90. Everything you mentioned started Pre-Regiment. It was when Regiment started that things got stupid, for a loooong time.

Please consider time stamps on these long videos. I know it’s meant to watch the whole thing but I work a demanding nights job and can only watch/listen to certain parts… just an idea but would appreciate it like I said. You guys are doing an awesome job and can’t say enough for what you do. Thank you.

One shot of testosterone a month is a HORRIBLE way to do it and is definitely the cause of many of your problems physically and mentally. It has your hormones all out of wack and you’re full of estrogen (crying watching American idol and seeing a urologist not to mention your brain chemistry). You Should be taking 2 small shots a week to keep your test levels steady. You’ll be amazed how much better off you’ll be in so many ways. I really hope you see this. Thank you for your service.

Thank you for that, and I actually am prescribed for once a week. Said once a month on accident. But I appreciate the feedback. A medic buddy said I should split it to twice a week.

Yes and no. CCTs main role is establish and manage assault zones and airfields in areas where there are none. E.g. a patch of desert to set up a forward arming and refueling point. But with the past 30y that wasn't needed as much as their secondary job as a JTAC, that came more to the forefront. JTACs are the close air support specialists. Essentially CCTs these days aren't known for their main job. As SOF personnel, CCTs have multiple qualifications to be more of an asset. That's why they train themselves to be JTAC-qualled.

@@macdirty869 Can CCTs call in artillery or Naval gun fire, or are they just controlling aircraft assets?
@macdirty869
@macdirty869 7 ай бұрын
@@joesgotya9930 If they're trained for it, or course. For a JTAC qualification you're introduced to all three, but the emphasis is on close air support. How good are you at the other two depends on unit training standards, self-interest, etc. afaik USMC JTACs do all three quite regularly. CCTs probably less often so, I would imagine, with their focus having been on SOF DA raids for the past 20y. That being said, I'm 80% certain the last NGF call for fire against a land target down range was by a CCT in 2007.
