Always loved the P12. Its the truck that struggles on hills but rarely lets you down if you know how to use it.
@realcanadian678 ай бұрын
Pacifics IRL could probably do that easily but id be alot more worried about that center of gravity. Glad the legacy of one of the greatest truck companies of all time in every single category (amazing reliability, amazing customer service, amazing product) carries on in the hearts and minds of the younger generation. One of the best things to come out of my province, BC. Makes me so glad that we hosted that company and made it our own. Just another relic of the golden age of BC.

I do love the P12 for logging.. but the binding/freeze up you mentioned is why I sometimes turn to other trucks.
@NProvince8 ай бұрын
For this, downgrading tires will help a lot. It sounds odd but it does word. I think the P12 is great, but just needs a tiny bit of help in the department you mentioned
@jimometry8 ай бұрын
@@NProvince I also picked up on the steering option you mentioned. Changed it to Wheel instead of Controller.. whoa.. talk about night and day. Wheel is so much better for precision steering, and now trucks don't feel as squirrely as they did before. Thanks for that tip.
@kieranmcmahon17458 ай бұрын
I happened to use the same truck for that mission. However, where the road falls away on the cliffside, I went to the left hand side of that sole tree, cuz it meant I could turn the truck under the logs without turning the logs too much, and I had a relatively straight line up the next bit. Fairly straightforward with a bit of experience
@NProvince8 ай бұрын
That was something I was considering doing as well. I like that strat too

Tried that exact same route with the P16. Needed a lot of help getting up and flipped exactly where you almost did. Tried to recover the logs but even when I put them back on the game wouldn't let me pack them. They fell off again while trying to reorient which sent me over the edge. So I used a mod truck to get it done.

It’s a spot I’ve dumped a lot of logs too in the past. Very good learning from mistakes in this scenario for sure :)

Hey thank you! I have to say, i definitely have had some pretty rough times as well rolling cargo and trucks plenty. Just keep trying and stay upright
@FunkyBaconArts8 ай бұрын
Niiiice~ Applause for that one! Think I used the Boar and the DAN on this one during my first run.... and yes, I accidentally though there were two loads going to that location. x_x On the other hand I learned you can fit two log-trailers side by side inside a side-board hitch trailer and you can use a Log Crane to load them in there with some effort.
@G4mingWithJJ8 ай бұрын
I think I spent an entire episode after spilling with the p16 there lol took like 4 trucks to get it flipped back over and needed fuel and a crane lol
@NProvince8 ай бұрын
Oh man. I know what that feeling is like in that exact place
@joshuatester81978 ай бұрын
A mixture of both methods is coming at it the way you do, but the tree you pass at 2:27 I go around left of it then cut up the hill, that way you can attack the slope more vertical with less roll overall.
@NProvince8 ай бұрын
Ya i shoulda mentioned that this was just to see if the P12 could handle this balance wise, cutting down then turning up is a safer route balance wise due to angles
@vladvulcan8 ай бұрын
I took a modded P12 (Blueline-X) through this route, and it was very hard. Doing this in stock one... impressive! I run it with log crane as well, it's useless as a long logger without it. There are always better options, but this one was one of the biggest trucks in the game with log crane + long logs combo - until they added the Mastodon and the KW963.

@@NProvince that's right. I used freightliner m917 and p12 , They have really enjoyable challenge . Trucks like zikz 612h or 605r really ruined the game's challenge

Hard core. That slope would have finished me off. My big takeaway is to fear anything called Big Salmon. I'll give the P12 another chance, but let's face it, the truck was in the right hands to perform that well.
@NeptuneGT8 ай бұрын
Nice ride, you like challenge! P12 is a good truck, i mostly use it as support with large maintenance addon Why did you use chained tyre? For the challenge or because its better in these conditions? I never use them, when i tested them compare to offroad/mud tyre, they were less good. Now i realize that i did these tests on vanilla game back in 2020 so maybe it changed.
@NProvince8 ай бұрын
So chain tires have no advantage in mud or snow, but sometimes I’ll use them if I know there will Be ice rocks and roads. In this case prior to this clip I was traveling up icy roads and my pet peeve in SR (or one of them) is slipping on ice. In some cases I’m willing to have less mud and snow performance to not slip on ice.

Did this mission the other day with the p16 and it was a seriously tough one. I was surprised with the p12s performance on this especially at the first hill as for me the p16 axle froze. Nice job. Gonna have to get the p12 out again for test.
@NProvince8 ай бұрын
It did struggle, but downgrading tires will help with axle freeze. It did have some time to climb that hill for sure. I cut those parts. P12 is really great, but it needs a lil patience and perhaps a small bit of live form the devs

It would have to depend on the uitility the P12 has. Great channel by the way. Watching all the way from South Africa.
