I had the privilege of meeting him, big Barry Mac and JJB in Leeds international swimming pool car park when I was at college in 1999. Little did I realise then what those great men would go on to achieve together. Truly inspirational! I count myself very lucky to have watched his try against Saints in the Grand Final live with my Pops; a memory I cherish. I can still see Rob's cheeky face driving off in his Audi TT and I'll remember that smile forever.

Not concerned how many times little Rob caused us problems at Wire. The man epitomises all that is good in this world. Devastating what he’s going through but his toughness on the field is evident in his battle to stay around for his family. The whole of the sport are behind him!

Great Post I think sometimes we are luck to witness a person's true greatness that takes them beyond the sport they have achieved so much in. In the modern era we call these sports men or women the goat but in a very few cases it goes above being the greatest of all time as a sports person, they truly are inspirational 👏
@minifridgegaminguk25333 жыл бұрын
As a Hull KR fan who was at Wembley in 2015, that was a really tough day, but no man deserved to win by such a margin more than rob, I grew up red and white but Leeds were always my 2nd team and I used to go to headingley every Friday to watch them play with my grandad, I was lucky to grow up watching the golden generation in their prime and especially rob and credit that team with my love of the game even if they weren’t rovers. What rob has faced humbled the whole sport I think and it is heartbreaking to see but also inspiring. He has attacked MND head on and he should be inspiration for all sporting professionals no matter the sport. He deserves to be honoured in a great way by the RFL, a special way of remembering a special man. I wish rob and his family all the best in their continued fight against his terrible condition.

He may be gone now, but legends never die. I attended every single championship title the Rhinos won and lost. But I will never forget the 2011 try - it was truly a magical moment that gives me chills no matter how many times I rewatch it. His character and spirit were perfectly summed up with this quote: “They put a 6.3 prop in a 5.6 man’s body.” RIP little Rob Burrow.

Sometimes the word legend can be used to often but with Rob Burrow the word Legend doesn't actually seem a big enough word or do him justice. He is an Icon and an inspiration to so many people on and off the field and now he faces the biggest challenge of his life. But like the hero he truly is he is facing this challenge with the strength, determination and dignity that he showed during his unbelievable playing career. This man truly is a "LEGEND" My heart goes out to him and his family. Take care Rob, you are so loved and respected by more people than you will ever probably know or realise!! God Bless 🙏
