@Dont_look_up-24 күн бұрын
As I understand it, the doll said that Ron can be seen only at night, and his mom works late. For fourteen days in a row, the boy repeated the scenario of saving his father, traveling through the closet (therefore, his cоrpsе caused a nightmare for his father, for 14 nights in row calling him home with him, and his father thought that the cоrpsе was calling him to diе), and every night his mother pulled the ghost of Ron out of the closet (remember her words that her son had already done this several times, but did not remember). On day 14, Ron broke the curse, and his mother stopped seeing him sitting in the closet. On this day, she probably found a cоrpsе (Ron was badly dеcоmpоsed sitting there)

@Dont_look_up-21 күн бұрын
After reviewing the scenes at the end, I want to correct my guess. Ron's mother didn't find his body after the curse was broken. In 14 days Ron's mother once put him in the same room with her. And it was only this morning that she discovered that her son was not around (I guess all the other days she sent the ghost to sleep in his room, and in the morning she went to work thinking that Ron was asleep, so she did not see that he was nowhere. In fact, the ghost was still sleeping with her in the room, but it was no longer visible.). That day, she went to the police, and that day Ron broke the curse by sending the 'spell' to the 'redface jail'. The curse was broken by the fact that Ron's ghost, when calling father home, took the motel's business card ('the spell'), returned home through the closet by mother, slept in her room, ran in the evening to rescue her from the 'redface jail', throwing the motel card at the police station ( you can see, the "redface jail" this time did not lead to the motel room, but to the police station where the mother was sitting) How glad I was when it dawned on me that Bruce didn't get away with it in the finale 🥲

@@Dont_look_up- On top of everything what makes even more sadder and more heartbreaking that he truly loved his dad even the doll said that Ron tried many times to create stories over and over to make himself feel better about his relationship with his dad, Despite the horror and weird unsettling art style of this game, it truly holds the most heartbreaking lore in it, that at some point at this moment something is happening irl just like in this game, not even mentioning the other kids at how they showed you how they died in horrible ways, burned- buried alive, trapped in the car.. man this game is something else.

It amazes me how many people try to say that what happened in this game isn’t “as bad” as people are saying it is, and it just shows how messed up the world has become as well as how desensitized people have become due to overexposure, kinda disgusting. I was in the same shoes as the MC when I was the same age, father both a drunkard and did drugs. If it weren’t for the fact that my stepmother pulled my father off of me the night that he choked me enough to pass out, I’d be dead right now. 10+ years later, with years of therapy, on and off meds and crisis management, I still have CPTSD, severe generalized anxiety and moderate depression. And even when I go months or even a year without being triggered by my trauma, all it takes is a random nightmare that takes me back to that night and other similar nights to regress back into treatment. I wish I could just forget it all for good without it ever resurfacing in the back of my subconscious mind ever again

If you ever watch the anime Death Hall, it's less disturbing but just as depressing. Similarly a little girl's mom from her memories was amazing, but she got left out on the balcony and froze to death. Even when she passes on to the waiting place, she still believed that her mother was good. A lot of these games and anime emphasize imo the innocents in kids, they don't really know any better and it pains me that any kid has to go through this.

Same here pal. My issues are that I have Eldest Daughter syndrome from being the oldest daughter in my family, plus an ex-stepfather who honestly sucks now that I realize it. My mother is very patient and loving, but trust me when I say she is tough as nails and does take any crap from you if you disrespect her. She is boss. Regardless, I can see your point cause I couldn’t imagine it. Those poor children should’ve been protected from the monsters who bred them into this world and hurt them in the worst ways possible. Sadly, the power rests not with us but with higher power than any of us..😔

Mother and ron didnt deserve that. Its obvious that even though the mom is neglectful because of work, she still really cares about ron, but needs to work probably full time and deal with her own mental problems (which she again probably has)

All the other kids where shown in the places/ways that they died in the end. Your character is in the closet cuz that's where his dead body was put, the one in the grave was buried alive i think, one was trapped in a trunk of a car the other burned in flames. Those children I think knew your character was a ghost.

I strongly agree some parents should never have kids. If you have personal issues don't act differently around your kids, even if your fostering. Don't force the "play your part" or "act like your part of this family" I've had ableism from my adopted parents and still trying to recover that none of it was my fault. The biggest thing is blame and false expectation. Their marriage fell out and I was the family glue. Putting unrealistic pressure on an autistic teenager. Trying to raise me as a teen that my disability is a hurdle, so I masked for so long and now I have late in life severe burnout and severe anxiety. I moved out and now almost 30 and happily married, still struggling with things from my parents. I grew up with therapy unfortunately it never worked. My parents told my younger siblings "they don't know what they're talking about, it's their disability making them say that". Having inertia struggles and finding out I have ADHD, explains my behaviors and finally having time to notice. The sad thing is my parents don't know or would understand the way they've made me feel or that their actions developed a difficult mindset of self sabotage and high false expectations. My father didn't want his online friends to know I was his kid. He was embarrassed to play games with me, my parents saw me as a gullible, manipulative, unintelligent kid. My disability was my problem to them. After 15 years, slowly recovering one step at a time, finally getting the real love and support I needed, the hardest part is changing mindset, after being drilled for so long. But things take time. After I lost my cat from a sudden illness a couple years ago I got worse, my other half through my past. It's hard to fill his spot but one day things will get better. Returning to my Norse pagan roots to help some of my anxiety and aromatherapy to find peace in things I found fear.

Heyy! I was at the gamescom yesterday and found an indie horror game that isn't very popular but has quite the interesting concept. It's called Psychotic Bathtub and basically showcases someone already mentally messed up slowly going insane. It also sounds like you can talk to your rubber duck? Anyways, I think it'd be an interesting short game for you to play!

I haven't cried at a game in a long time, I've never been let's just say *attacked* by a parent at all, but to put myself in those kids shoes, it makes me incredibly sad. I'm so fucking lucky I HAVE fantastic parents, they love me and my siblings all the world, and they'd never do anything like this in a million years. My lips were quivering just thinking of that scene, now I know why Ryan didn't show it on screen, because oh my god. I don't really know what to say, other than, go hug your parents, tell them you love them, It's so easy to get caught up in day to day life and either not talk to a parent because you're busy, or something comes up, but please, if you have parents, leave what you're doing and go hug them.

Me too, every word you say strikes with me, even the part where I can confidently say that my three divorced parents (even my ex-stepfather specifically) wouldn’t do anything like this. My ex-stepfather may suck enough to try to accuse my mother of abuse and try to take everything from us, but at least he’s dignified enough not to resort to more ‘extreme’ behavior. Regardless, the poor unfortunate children of this world should be protected from the monsters who bred them and continually fail them the most. Where is the love those children deserve?

As horrible as the concepts are, and as sad as this whole thing is, I think that the symbolism and just the overall creativity that the creators put into this magnificently horrific piece of art is beyond me I really do think we need more game creators such as these. Obviously it's not everyone's cup of tea, the topics that this game goes over however, I personally would like to see more things like this and Ryan, you did a magnificent playthrough I'm sorry if you're a little traumatized but thank you so much for playing this game.
