For so long, i believed it was better to learn from my own mistakes rather than listening to those around me.. my thought process was that the hardship I endure will be my own and my own experience I can speak from. More recently, I’ve been learning that many of those hardships just don’t need to be experienced. Thank you for sharing

I saw the thumbnail of the video and wondered to myself sarcastically "what kind of knowledge and wisdom could a gangster have that I would want to know?". 20 years ago my mother was murdered by gangsters, her past had finally caught up to her. Since then I've hated gang culture and anyone who embraces or emulates it. I finished the video and was left with a sense of clarity. There is an estimated 6.8-7.2 billion people in this world, and the vast majority of them are just trying to get by as best they can. I learned that I need to remember that, to be compassionate, and to be humble.

@@mondaysinsanity8193 That is not ultimately true for only positivity can truely manifest good will and as does negativity bad will. Truely there are many good light hearted people like Mario who I have a heart for and who only truely want good thing's for other's and think negatively upon themselves but in the process they know not what they do. I say this not out of pride or self righteousness but out of truth. If a man think or speak negatively about himself he is eventually going to start believing it and this is VERY VERY DESTRUCTIVE. Doing something like that is like begging something bad too happen it's one thing to be good and have a good heart but if you let any negativity speep in it can slowly rap around your neck destroy you like a mighty python conquering it's pray and then how can you help anyone when they truley need you most? It's one thing to die so someone else won't have to or to dedicate your life to helping other's. Infact there's even a benefit in understanding pain so you want repeat something wrong or foolish but never wonder in self petty and look down on yourself this is like inviting the devil into your life. DESTRUCTION IS DESTRUCTION and serves no one, invite it into your life and it will invite you into death. Though light hearted looking down on yourself is like looking down on the creator itself and is an insult to "GOD" for you are and where made in the likeness of "GOD"!!!!!!!!

What Homeboy Industries has done in California, is incredible. Lol at all y'all !!! But I'm just like Mario just no face tats ! Everyone who thinks this is a good speech does have a heart and good soul ! Most ppl can't get over the fact he's a gang member , and it's sad because I no longer gang bang AT ALL and i know my heart and I'm struggling to get clean again but being sober and helping others get out of the pain and struggle I fought with since I was about 12 is all I want to do ! I think about it all the time so I know that's what God put me here to do ! When I got into all that I didn't know what I was getting into AT ALL , that life chose me I didn't choose it nor when I took my first painkiller at 12 for my Crohn's disease did I think I was going to be a heroin addict ! I said all that to say life is not always what it looks like but more of how you look at it , even back then if someone showed me love I showed love back while people stabbed me in the back while I was nothing but loyal now I would give the shirt off my back and the last 20 in my pocket to a friend in need but I'm also not perfect ! I made plenty of mistakes and I paid for them ! I've always confessed them to the God of my understanding and asked for forgiveness and idc who believes or knows I'm truely sorry to all the ppl I hurt is God , my mother , and those ppl I hurt ! No matter gang member , addict , homeless , etc etc we are all humans all people make mistakes or if you believe we all sin , however it is not how you fall but how you get up and what you do when your up and on your feet ! Every day there is someone you can give a little bit of kindness and love to whether it's kind words , a dollar to a poor man , and ear to listen to them , a hand to pat them on the back because you never know if you do one of those simple things , they may be the next ones to change and give the next person a hand , if everyone did this gangs , drug dens , homeless camps , prisons would barely exist ! Love one another and if your in a position to , then lend a hand for someone who's looking for someone to listen because now one ever has , that 5 mins you spend listening to them is a huge deal to them and its nothing to you because you had to wait for the bus anyway or whatever it may be but that kindness you showed just changed his life now a man will be on a stage telling a touching story about them ! God bless you all all and much love !

This man showed gang members the ultimate love and changed their lives. Modern day Jesus if you ask me. I’m glad he is helping these young men out and changing their lives for the better. “ Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends” john 15:13.

Wow. How confident is a person inside their soul, to meet a person with no judgement, no preconceived ideas, to allow the individual to be who they are and realize, we all have our cross to bear, we all have the experiences, good and bad, that have shaped us and we are all brothers and sisters. What a powerful short video.

My God this was powerful and so beautiful 💖 I cried deeply from my soul 🙏🏻 I feel so strongly about every word he said, nobody is born bad we all our just doing our best with what we were given, if your born into poverty violence crime substance abuse dysfunctional families lack of love lack of self worth the list is endless, your chances are limited, your inner self is fractured your worth your beliefs are tarnished the likelihood you will end up living this type of life is understandably high and understandably justified people are just coming from what they no what they’ve been taught what they’ve been shown and everyone is ultimately just trying to survive, just trying to belong ❤️ What an amazing man what an amazing centre, the world needs more people like this man and more places like that 🙏🏻 Beautiful, Love breeds Love it’s just simple as that x x

These stories are great, heart warming and a fun thing to watch to get all sappy and warm inside. What we need is real systemic change. Give people opportunities, like affordable college, access to healthcare, a livable wage. We need to make being a good dad and mom cool again. Put worth in helping and loving your fellow man instead of tearing down and dominating. We can have many charities and organizations bit with out change in how we run government and politics things will never change.
