Just FYI on this, the hydraulic set uses 9 elastomers, the non hydraulic uses 8. I just bought the hydaulic version and installed it, and it was confusing because they instructions show the non hydraulic version and says only use 8 elastomers. But when you open the elastomar 'container' it has 9 preinstalled from factory. If you look up the hydraulic upgrade instructions, it also shows a picture with 9 elastomers. I also noticed if you use 8 with the hydraulic set, the elastomer cover screws all the way down when it's actually supposed to be the preload for the brakes. You have to have 9 in there for it to be adjustable for preload.

I just got the alpha u and p1000 but coming from moza having a difficult time setting them up properly. How did you get through that initial setup phase
@RaceZeus5 ай бұрын
@@llavaertsorry I don’t have KZbin notifications and just saw this after coming back to this video. I don’t know if you’re still struggling but tbh it was just trial and error for me like Dan says in this video. I spent a lot of time setting up profiles for iRacing, ACC, and LMU just based off of what I personally want to feel. I want to recreate real life as much as possible so I try to get the correct wheel weight and feel with ffb. (Example: in ACC I run 35-40% depending on the car. While having everything in the Simagic software strength-wise set to 100%. Ffb details is maxed while damping & inertia is 0. Mechanical grip is around 30-40%.) Some people who try my rig say it’s too heavy for them but for me, it’s perfect, and it’s about as heavy as a gt3/4 car. I haven’t driven one myself…yet…Lol, but I have had an amateur gt3 driver test out my rig and help me tune it to be as close to the cars he’s driven as possible. And I’ve talked to Daniel morad a lot at races about this Lol. Everyone is different like I said, but I personally go for accuracy to irl. So you gotta spend the time to figure out what works for you. For the haptics on the pedals I use simhub like Daniel said in this video. Spent hours fine tuning suspension bumps and ABS and tc/wheel slip and lock in that as well

Never ever get new pedals to try and get them to feel the same as pld. Thats the biggest mistake ever. You always have to adapt to new pedals. Find a good feel for pressure and or travel and adapt. Me i added more trsvle with softer setup like dan and wow did it mske my trail braking and times so much better and im so kuch more consistent. If i tried making it feel like ym elite v2 from fanatec it would have ruined the improvements and me being better. You can order the springs also and it can help alot for people coming for cheaper sets. That brake mit is amazing. @llavaert

Hy Dan! Thanks again for the review! For me your observations about the elastomers and his behavior associated to the load cell are 100% accurate. I studied Aerospace Engineering having many subjects studied dedicated over materials structures and mechanisms. Then it seems to me that your observations about the behavior of elastomers in combination with the load cell are absolutely ok for me. Finally, a correct and subjective analysis is made on this topic. I like to see that some youtubers, plenty of passion and really good intentions dedicated themselves to trying explain it, but it is a relief to see when someone does it with knowledge and really scientific thinking behind as you do. I hope can get the P1000 in a few months, and I think that those rigid spacers that's not included from scratch could be easy made in ABS with a 3d printer added to your recommendations in your previous video. Thanks again for made and share this!

I'm so glad you covered the issue with this whole elastomer relaxing issues. I think some people have trained their muscle memory for position, rather than purely on pressure (whether they're aware of it or not), and they're the ones having the relaxing elastomer issues.
@gene_the_dev_4211 ай бұрын
not entirely, i had CSL LC and had my memory trained for pressure. after updating to P1000 I encountered this issue using the same pressure as before. My further tests showed (at least in my case) its more related to the pressure applied and elastomers used. after i removed one grey rubber elastomer (softer one) and replaced it with a metal washer and lowered calibrated pressure a bit, stability improved drastically. I also tested with with the PU from CSL and it was also much better. So to me it's an issue with some of the 'rubbers' used that cannot handle higher pressures. So with mostly PU parts it's ok, the more rubber ones you add (grey and black) the worse relaxation will become if you apply enough pressure.
@francisfaustino11 ай бұрын
I'm starting to suspect that the elastomers on the Simagic pedals are deforming under pressure. Laurence Dusoswa shows this on his review of the VNM pedals.

@lewisgordon149010 ай бұрын
To eliminate the odd feeling on the pedal faces you could put something in the hole once you've decided the position you like. Exactly what to put in there depends on how deep the recessed screws are and how thick your filler is but the first thing I'd try are those stick on felt pads you put under a chair's legs so it'll slide smoothly on a hardwood floor. I've seen them at hardware stores, Rite Aide & CVS. Another material you might want to try are those wax mouldable ear plugs. You can break off what you don't need & mould it into the exact shape & size of the hole. I think they'd stay in there on their own, if not, cover w/ Gorilla Tape (the best wearing of all duct tapes ive used). A third material is fill w/ glue from a hot glue gun. Let it harden then cut off the excess. This last one may make it VERY hard to remove the glue to access the screws again, but in my experience all the glue applied in that application tends to come off all at once, not so much if part got a chance to harden b4 adding more.

Logically, load cells with a more dense/harder elastomer stack will provide a more linear brake response in relation to pedal travel compared to a softer elastomer stack as the pressure is more directly applied.

It's funny because when testing them side by side at microcenter the simicube actives and these the effects really really felt so close like you stated. At that moment I'm like yep these are it. The brake feel also has like the perfect travel when setup. Like probably the best experience trail braking I've had besides the simucube actives. But the enjoyment and feel I got was to close to my preference to ever warrant 4k dollars for a set of pedals. Maybe one day I'll just buy the brake wink

In the software the degradation of the input is clearly visible, but I never experienced or felt it when I was racing and that's the most important part. Don't focus on anything that doesn't matter when you are using the pedals to what they are built to do. Now trying to find the rumble motors somewhere in stock, that's the hardest part...

great video as always. can i install those P-HPR(Haptic pedals Reactor) on Heusinkveld Ultimate+ ? i have 3 pedal set. if yes, then how many are enough ?

Easy! Get one for the brake - I think there are also mounts out there you can print, throttle and clutch is not necessary imo

@@DanSuzuki Thank you for replying, really appreciate your reply. I rarely get reply from channel owners. what motion system would you choose/prefer, D-box (1.5 inch) or qubicsystem's QS-220-PL (100 mm aka 3.93701 inch) ? Thanks again. Keep up the great work.

Never tried the qubic but more travel is nice, not needed for road racing but it’s awesome for flying or rally for example

@@DanSuzuki Thank you, the only question comes to mind is 1.5 inches enough ? and thats what stopping me from going to D-Box systems. Really appreciate your reply. Thanks for your time.

I would like to upgrade my Heusinkveld Sprint which are currently equipped with Sim3D rumble motors. Does it make sense to get the Simagic Haptic Reactors as an upgrade or should I just go all in (get the P1000 with haptic reactors)? Are the P1000 pedals an overall upgrade in brake feel? The 60 kg loadcell of the Heusinkvelds is sufficient for me.

I’m in a similar boat. I have 2 sprints but want a clutch. Have considered selling my 2 sprints to buy a 3 pedal set elsewhere.

Bro, just go with the new SimLab XP1, awesome Set of pedals

Out of interest why are you guys upgrading the Sprints? Is it for the extra options of the haptics or hydraulics, or do you find the Sprints lacking in other ways? I'm going to have space for a proper rig at some point next year, and can start looking for better pedals at last, and have always thought the Sprints look to be decently put together even if they lack the bells and whistles of newer pedals, so would appreciate hearing why people are moving away from them if you have a moment!

I want a clutch pedal, I don’t want to pay $160 for one. It might be cheaper for me to sell my 2 HS’s and buy a new set of 3 pedals elsewhere. I love my sprints. But no one is selling used clutches. And I’m not paying the inflated amount that most websites are asking.

Does someone know the minimum force we can apply with the stock elastomers ? I use few force like 25 kgs on my Heusinkveld

Do you run a ''buttkicker'' as well as the Pedal Haptic? I have neither; is getting both kinda redundant?
@DanSuzuki11 ай бұрын
Depends on what you put on the buttkicker :) I run a D-Box Gen 5 with haptics on my rig but don't have any ABS or tire lock effects on that!
