Literally went to my Omega boutique this past weekend to try this on in person. Needless to say, I left with it. Could NOT be any happier. It deserves at least a look at for anyone walking into a boutique.

This extraordinary time piece has now jumped to the top of a very short list of must-have watches. As a pilot for an international airline the world time function is extremely valuable, but as a standalone watch is aqua terra is exquisite.

Nowhere near good enough for a world timer for me to spend my money on it. The center piece looks cheap. The size is too large. Why not something in the 39-41mm range? The combination of the cities and countries/territories looks terrible (examples: Puerto Rico instead of San Juan and Rio instead of Rio de Janeiro). I’m sorry the recent Omega offerings all aren’t worth the cost. I went from being a fan and considering purchasing an Omega to being turned off from the brand. I’d rather spend money on GO, NOMOS, or something else than Omega.

I fell in love with the AT world timer quite some time ago. I think like some folks, a bit big for my wrist (Teddy, found your channel forever ago and we share the same wrist size so that's always helpful lol) but it's also a bit out of my budget for my next or future watches. My wife must have saw me drooling over this and bought me for our anniversary the Farer Worldtimer. It's 38mm, and similar in design. I absolutely love it and I don't feel like I sacrificed too much in terms of look. I will say, the biggest complaint for the Farer was the crappy strap they put it on but was able to fix that with a teddy strap ;)

I originally started my journey looking at the Rolex GMT. In my research, I learned about world timers and how much more you get as compared to the GMT type watches. I then turned my research to include all world timers (Patek, VC, FC, etc)...then I discovered this watch Omega AQ Worldtimer. Just WOW. Tried one on at my local Omega Boutique. Personally even better live. But I definitely preferred the rubber strap. I have a 7.5in wrist. Done deal. Love it.

I love this watch. The dial can seem cluttered in review videos, with all of the macro shots. But in actual time-telling use the indices and hands pop, and the WorldTime function fades to the background. Alternatively, if you want to focus on the WorldTime function it is easy to use and super legible. Overall, it is absolutely stunning. My only concern is with the polished bezel and whether it becomes a scratch magnet or not over time. Great review!

I am actually sort of on the fence, but also sort of on the extremes. I love the globe design (extremely FOR), but (at least at this point in my journey) I tend to lean away from busy designs (extremely AGAINST). Put those together and I'm having a lot of mixed feelings. Still a beautiful watch for anyone who is looking to add a(nother?) world timer to their collection, perhaps one of the best according to my personal taste.

I picked up this watch recently and absolutely love it. The time and date is super legible. You'll need better lighting and vision for the WT function..but even with my terrible vision, its readable. It's very straightforward and simple to use. The time zone cities are in printed in two colors...white for those that adhere to daylight savings and blue for those that don't. London (GMT-0) is red. Making the WT easier to read and locate the correct zone is the globe in the center that is aligned according to the timezones around the perimeter. Find your continent (sorry Australia..this is a northern hemisphere view) and then locate the primary city for the zone... like magic, you know if it's day or night and down to the hour using the WT disk. The last Easter egg is the city of Geneva, was substituted with Bienne...the city where Omega is based.

Timely video...wearing mine as I'm watching. It's truly a spectacular watch. Super legible for all the info presented. Time and date at a glance. The WT complication is also easily readable in brighter light. If you work with a team across many time zones, a WT becomes a valuable and very usable tool.

I love it and I went with the thought of getting this one to Omega’s Boutique last year… unfortunately after trying it on my 17cm wrist I ended up with 41mm Aqua Terra… just like you mentioned it’s not even the diameter of the case but the height of it. Love this guy, saw it in the window of the Omega boutique at the Istanbul airport and wanted it ever since. It's now my daily wear. Someday may also get the golden one. I think the white dial will make the 24 hour ring easier to read in less light conditions, right now that and the lack of seconds/minute marks on the dial are my only complaints.

Really an amazing watch and a worldtime complication at the price point is incredible value! As a note, even though the watch is 43mm, Omega watches wear a bit smaller than the case diameter would suggest because of the twisted lug design!

Favorite watch I've ever owned, beating out various Rolex, Zenith and other Omega models. Ahead of even the blue dial Sky Dweller (my #2). Photos/videos don't do it full justice. Bonus points for being a true watch person's watch -- a consummate "if you know, you know" type of piece, as Teddy says.

I love this watch. I acquired one to celebrate my MBA and couldn't be happier. It is definitely a bit large for my wrist but at the end of the day I can still fit it under a shirt cuff. Plus, I work with a team that spans five time zones (USA West Coast, USA East Coast, London, Dubai, and Melbourne) so I get a kick out of saying I actually "use" complication (and the worldtime has always been my favorite complication).

I have tried this model on side by side with a vanilla AT and have to say that the 3D immersive dial does take your breath away. You’d never get bored with this visual treat on your wrist, it’s certainly a conversation piece. But Omega have no on the fly adjustment at this price point which is just crazy. Yes there’s the rubber strap but this should be included especially in a piece which is up there in price. It’s a large bodied statement piece but in a good way. Plenty is masculine presence and heft so you know where your money has gone. Apart from the failings of the bracelet it’s certainly a fantastic piece Bravo to Omega. Certainly Omega being themselves and not attack of the clones.

Can’t really beat this on value for a true world timer. It’s a big watch but it’s a great travel watch especially for those with friends in far-flung places. The regular 41mm AT has the stepping hour hand which is nice but this is cool to see what time it is in say Singapore where I have friends so I don’t call at 3am haha. That said, I don’t have this model but definitely considering it.

@jolness1
@jolness1 2 жыл бұрын
@@Crizzle28 should be able to order from an omega AD. That’s what I did with my 41mm aqua terra. It isn’t cheap though. Make sure you order the end link, strap and deployant clasp, you would think it comes as a set but it doesn’t. Always better to buy on the bracelet Imo, to add the strap is a few hundred bucks, the bracelet is well over $1000 and the cost delta between the two models when new is much smaller. You’d spend $500+ more than buying the bracelet separately. Plus it is good for resale value if you ever want or need to.

Hard pass. Owned it for 9 months - this watch has 2 major design flaws. The world time font is so tiny that it is impossible to ready in low light conditions. If you need reading glasses, forget it. Second, the crown is a royal pain in the neck to grip and wind. The crown is tiny and not sized correctly to match the thick case. It is very tigh to wind. Google for this problem. Do not be fooled by the pretty macro shots. Also, it looks like Omega straight up ripped it off the JLC Geophysic Univerasal Timer, which a much better executed world timer, slimmer in profile and smaller in diameter. Contrary to such glowing reviews, this watch is a one of the worst watches by Omega. Also, the resale is terrible in these. If you want to buy it, go used and on the blue rubber.

Bought my worldtimer 3 weeks ago on rubber strap, other than the crown being a little difficult, it’s an absolute piece of art 🖼 on my wrist! For me GMTs alone are useless…I can keep track of 2 or 3 timezones in my mind easily…the lack of minute markers is moot - I don’t need to know if it’s 2:42 or 2:43…who needs the exact minute!
@skolappacaguy
@skolappacaguy 3 ай бұрын
Owned this for 9 months now on rubber and here are my thoughts. Super comfy to wear and beautiful under a loupe. I've taken it around the globe a couple of times. There are two major flaws with the design, and to me, these make it a real pain to use. The first one is the size of the 24-hour inner ring. The font is so tiny that it is impossible to read, especially if one relies on reading glasses. To make things worse, the light blue section of the inner 24-hour ring has its font in white color. White on light blue with a tiny font - this renders the watch unusable, especially in darker light conditions, like inside an airplane or inside a house under low light conditions. There is clearly space inside the watch to make this ring bigger, but they chose not to do it. One easy fix could be to show the GMT time in the date window with a big font. While the close-up pictures look beautiful, this is a huge design flaw, and that is a bummer. The second major flaw is the crown is tiny and really, REALLY hard to wind. On a thick case, the small crown looks out of place and is frankly horrible to work with. In addition to the small size, that winder is extremely tight. You really need to work it to turn it. Anyone looking to buy this, must try to wind it before you buy it. This alone could be a deal breaker for a lot of folks. In contrast, when one looks at the Tudor GMT from 2023 and earlier, it has a thick case but has an appropriately sized crown that is butter smooth to operate.

Fantastic value when you look at virtually any other worldtimer on the market. It’s a little too busy for my tastes as while I recognize watches are for more than just telling the time these days, I still like a level of legibility that allows me to know the time upon a glance and I think this one misses that for me.

Everyone knows about this watch, but Breitling did it better in 2017 with the Galactic Unitime. Easiest world timer on earth to set and read. When it came out it was more expensive than the Omega, but you can find them in new condition these days for under $4k. In house movement, 70 hour power reserve, tungsten carbide bezel, and the best world time complication ever made. This watch is so slept on by the community.

Idk I never get this omega. Unmoving city names, the unlegible 24 hour disc, etc. I get it, it's based on 8900 movement with Gmt module modified such replacing the 24h hand to become 24h scale, thus to set the home time you have to pull out the crown all the way then align the time of the day with reference time, unlike most high end worldtimer. Personally it'll be better in De Ville Tresor case, manual wound, rotating city ring with click so that the time reference always on top, two crown with one dedicated to the city ring, and a pointer date.

If was paying I'd love to flip it over to check say the time in Australia or the Philippines They could also just do the southern hemisphere version on the main dial. It would automatically be a two watch collection. It'll be an automatic sale especially the gold ones

Fantastic review! I have been wanting an Aqua Terra, and this review really nailed it for me from a great watch, hard to find a bad Omega, to some unique value points of why this versus others. And, the watch is stunning. As always, love your watch reviews!!!

Very cool. Not many world timers out there. And for the most part, the dials are super busy, almost cluttered. This model looks like a very clean design.

Cool watch. Why are mechanical World Timers always too big? Looking for a classy World Timer for a slim wrist.

This is one of the best pieces in the current Omega lineup. That dial is just amazing.
