As a survivor of child abuse this song, along with Concrete Angel and The Little Girl hit hard.

Thank you for doing this video. I have requested over 100 channels I subscribe to to do this to get the message out. I know people bring up "Concrete Angel" which is an awesome song with the same message. I find this song hits just a little harder because I felt bad for Alyssa, of course, but the girl that got up and left broke me heart. She obviously was the one (in this story) that was removed from her situation. As we know, teenage girls are a huge group that are abused in many ways and seeing her react the way she did made me both sad and angry. I will never understand a parent's problems being taken out on their children. You are the adult. Fix your crap and let kids grow up. Ugh. This gets me so emotional every time I see the video.

It's a true story which makes it even sadder....thanks for reacting to this.

Took him 2 years to write it due to migraines he got just dealing with it.

This song is great and has a great message. If you don't mind me asking can you do John Schneider " Wherever she is" please? It's a funny song I'm sure you'll laugh with the message of it.

Try martina McBride's Concrete Angel or Hannah Ellis' officer down. Both very powerful

This is even more powerful given my idiosyncratic taste in music: Johnny Cash - Hurt
