This is the way an adv motorcycle video should be! No blaring sound track that we're forced to endure!! Thanks Kyle for interacting with us, telling the story keeping it all bare bones. Your film making is so enjoyable! Great Job to the both of you!! Looking forward to the series!

Dean, Can I ask your opinion? On my telerover channel, I have been adding music to my rides (nothing hard rock/hip hop) because I thought it would make my long-ride videos more palatable. Can you tell me if I have achieved the rigt balance or should I just eliminate background music altogether? Thank you.

Great video, and thank you Kyle! I feel relieved to see that my Africa Twin was not the only one to take a tumble on that expert section. I made it to where it gets steep and the same thing happened to me. On top of Bridger Peak my side stand sunk into the ground and got a nasty bend in it when the bike tipped over. It was useless the rest of the trip, and has since been replaced with a Camel Toe. Looking forward to the next installment of this series. It’s bringing back some great memories from last fall. Keep them coming, your videos are the best out there.

First video that I have watched and job well done. I have been riding in the trails for 35 years on motorbikes and mountain bikes. So this observation that I am about to make is based solely on this video without knowing your experience. From what I just watched I believe you are getting tunnel vision on the obstacles in front of you. See the obstacle that needs to be avoided then pick your line around it and don't look back at the obstacle. I hope this helps, again without knowing your experience. All that being said I am not trying to take away from the difficulty of the trail.

Thanks for the wonderful video, and a HUGE thanks for not ruining it with crappy background music. I don't know why some people are compelled to add annoying background music throughout their videos. The into, outro, and some carefully chosen and judiciously sprinkled throughout, not too bad.

I appreciate you taking the time to produce and share. You even list all your equipment... Damn. Way to adapt to the broken peg and truck on. My biggest takeaway was this: Before I saw this, had I seen guys wearing vests and setting up barriers, Ida just assumed that meant road is closed, I MUST turned around. I would have never thought to just politely and respectfully ask if I could asses it on foot, and pass if i thought i could handle it. That was another level of obstacle avoidance. Well done. In the words of the poet, Jay Z, "On to the next one..."

Quick tip on the flashing LED. if you can, switch out the Hz frequency on the camera. Had problems at work for a vision-system and it fixed it from flashing to no-flashing. Modern lights cuts the power wave-curve to be more effective which messes with shutterspeed of cameras. Switching frequency on camera can eliminate it.

It’s the best comfort mod I’ve added. Keeps you from getting hotspots on hot days and then also allows water to run between you and the seat on rainy days so you’re not sitting there with a wet seat. You wouldn’t think it would make a difference, but you can literally feel the air between you and the seat, when moving down the road. It’s worth every penny

Its the ohlins forks. they are not bottoming out. They do have an annoying clunk at full extension though. I first thought something was wrong but after sending them back to ohlins for inspection they say that is how they are designed. They should have put a dampener in the top, but they say it is to allow for maximum travel.

Curious if you think the pillion pegs add additional protection for the main foot pegs. I know it was a freak hit with the camel foot peg brace, but I have never removed my passenger pegs thinking it added a layer of protection. Obviously you never use them....and I don't either, but would they be worth keeping for that purpose. I ask you, because it sounds like this isn't the first time you've been in this pickle.
@backcountryadvmoto

9:46 you didn't hit mud bud, you went over a slanted smooth rock and it pushed your front wheel to the left. Pick better lines or stand on your bike to better stabilize your bike. Happy riding!

Wyoming gets made fun of a lot for just bein sage brush, cows and antelope. I have been around the country a lot and it has some of the most breathtaking views but it is also the most diverse and rugged terrain in the lower 48 in my opinion.

Third time your foot peg took a bad hit? Probably time for a nerf bar/crash guard or take the spare parts you need? Either one would probably guarantee it won't happen again.

Yeah I enjoy the challenge of getting these big bikes into places most people would go. the Honda weights near 575lbs with all the gear and the BMW is pushing 650lbs. These bikes are more capable than what people think. Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it.

Im not sure I understand? I never said anything about crossing or not crossing through Wyoming to get to the start of the Wyoming BDR. @@backcountryadvmoto minute 3 in the rain your in Wyoming. I guess you rocked down 430 to 318 to 40 to get back to baggs? With little to no mapping other than Idaho alls one ccan go on is scenery and places one may have been. But if you don't think crossing 500 miles of Wyoming to start a adventure part of the adventure...ok...why not i 80 to creston junction to baggs. Would have shaved 3 hrs off the drive

I just do not understand why riders insist on taking these heavy twin cylinder bikes off-road. I have a KTM 690 and rode with a fellow from New Zealand on an African twin (1000). When he went down after a water crossing, his leg was trapped and I couldn't save him. We, fortunately, had some cartel people come by to lift his bike off him. That being said, He made it all the way to Patagonia, before COVID stopped his RoTW adventure. two years later he went up Africa, so I am probably full of shit. It's good to be young and strong. (not me)
