For many years, the '71-'73 Mustangs didn't do much for me. Now I love them. This a beautiful car. Wish I had it.

I happen to like the body style....looks exotic, especially with ram air and 429SCJ! I'll bet is was one of the fastest Mustangs of that era!

I remember back in high school,mid 80's,trying to get my father to help me get (buy)this exact car,same everything,that was for sale in the Carolina Trader for $2,500.00! I wasn't able to get it for lack of funds but years later he said he didn't want me to have anything that fast.Yeah,he was fine with the Trans Ams but the mustang no way!

The 429 SCJ is essentially a Boss 429 without the heads.

That's insane!!!...Nice job brother...I'm restoring a matching numbers 1969 GTO Judge right now .400ci,Muncie Rockcrusher four speed,10 bolt posi rear.. Hugger Orange with a white and black interior!!.Built at the Baltimore plant where my mother's father worked from 1953 to 1982.....so he surely helped build this car?....!!!😮

@@natesclassiccars1 HOW MUCH WAS IT????
@stevefowler21126 ай бұрын
Wow, what a car...is the compression ratio the same in the '71 as the '69 and '70 SCJ? One minor point, the Ford 9 inch rear end did not come with the ratio of 4.11:1, it came with a 4.10:1.
@clevlandblock5 ай бұрын
4.10 was Chevy. All my Ford tests and original Muscleparts Supplements say it's 4.11 with SCJ.
@stacyhazelwood4033Ай бұрын
11.3:1 compression. It is the same as my 70 429cj (Mercury Cyclone Spoiler). If it is like mine, it does not like anything less than 93 octane with octane boost.

@@natesclassiccars1 I had a new 70 Cougar 351C with rim-blow. Even with PS, I had some unwanted honks, usually during hard maneuvers.

OMG, you are right. I do that all the time in my 1970 Mercury Cyclone Spoiler w/429cj 4spd and no power steering or power brakes. When I am trying to get around in a parking lot at a car show, I look like I am wrestling a bear with intermittent honkings. 🤣🤣🤣
