I grew up swimming in this river in the summer. I went to school right up the road from your takeout at Bridgeport. Lovely to see this, and though I've seen the Yuba this angry before, I've never seen anyone dare decide to ride it! I was happy to see my favorite swim spots, even though at 2500cfs they were mostly a blur.

yep I grew up camping on the yuba. My dad, me, and my brother took it too far tubing the yuba and nearly drowned. I was in third grade. Luckily we all made it out alive. That is no exaggeration. We all made it out alive and if I had not practiced swimming so hard the year before, I would of surely been gone being the youngest of the incident. To this day I am starting to do rafting and a lot of my passion for the river comes from the yuba. The yuba is powerful, rugged, beautiful, and not to be trifled with.

Dope run, sweet crew! Nothing better then to skip the lines and go for the meat. I definitely miss those days. As a California resident we sure do have some of the best whitewater runs in the world especially during snow melt season. Cheers!

what is the 1/2 moon shaped piece of loose foam that is shown at 1:02 and 7:15 in your kayak? What do you use it for -- seat riser, foot bulkhead, or something else?
@danejacksonkayak5 жыл бұрын
It was my bulkhead foam, unfortunately my bungee clip that holds the piece to the plastic fell out before that lap.
