Not finished watching it, but you can license a song for every instrument guitar, violin, pipe organ, BOTH piano and keyboard. So the piano skill will actually get you 2 different song license opportunities. Earn tips while doing all of the instruments. Write 1 song each while also earning tips. Then move on to the mix station. You can sell the CD's on the selling table or directly from your inventory. That one is kind of repetitive though since you only have to mix for 1 second and then can burn a CD.

Omg yes piano/keyboard is such a good skill for music sims because of that! Singing is also really easy to get up with the piano/guitar/shower and at level 8 singing you can write lyrics on the piano/guitar, which count as microphone!

If Sonny works on his singing skill, that's another "instrument" that can get tips, and you don't even need a microphone, as you gain singing skill when you choose "sing song..." on the guitar/piano (once you have high enough singing,) or when you just click the sim and start singing. The best part, though, is that if you have both singing and guitar (or singing and piano,) you can "write lyrics" by clicking the guitar/piano (or microphone) and license those, too. (They count as a separate instrument for the "one per week per instrument" rule.) And the karaoke machine in the Tiny Town community center could get some use for fun, too.

I recently played through the music mixing skill with my legacy. Here's my top tips: 1) Sell released CD's for extra money. 2) As far as I can tell, the quality of the track is based entirely off of the skill and mood of the sim. At top skill I was able to just start making music, then burn the track immediately and get good quality tracks. 3) Don't worry about the label. If they drop you, you will immediately be signed again when you release new music. 4) Iirc unlike writing, the mixed tracks don't lose value over time, so you can make an insane amount, it just takes time to build up.

I’m catching up on all the Tiny Town episodes and just finished ep 9 where the holiday decorations kept popping up everywhere. I used to get really annoyed with this myself, especially since these decorations tend to get permanently stuck on community lots, so I just wanted to let you know that there’s this teeny tiny mod by Zero called ’Remove Decorations on Every Lot’ which gives you a Debug option to remove all of it with a single click, it’s super handy!!

There's one of the new child aspirations that speeds up painting, writing, and writing songs in adulthood. I think it's the Creative Genius one. So good! And the new Practice Makes Perfect trait keeps you from getting the creative fog or mental fog at all because you're supposed to be practicing your skills as part of the trait.

Now I just imagine Sonny has been living in that tent for years because he was just that music guy that never really felt the rush of getting his life together. He had a tent to sleep in, his siblings were making food on the bbq, he didn't need more. The only downside was that it was constantly raining and storming in tiny town, so he kinda always knew he had to start doing something, he just always said ''yeah, yeah, i'll start tomorrow''. Now that he's a little bit older, he figured he should persue his dream of playing the pipe organ and actually live in a house. He kinda gets away with everything, always, because he's talented enough, but mostly very charming. Being spotted on dates with a global superstar, eating at bars every night. Sonny is a legend. Sonny is THE legend. The other Renrut siblings should feel lucky knowing the amazingly cool Sonny Islands

I feel like maybe for realism some should and some shouldn't. Like Sonny having an on again off again thing with Judith, or one other just not being interested in relationships, but some new faces would be nice. Maybe based on the dates they are always calling about? And maybe some kids too, cause i find it very unlikely Semaj would end up with only two grandkids. That could be done at the very end though, so James doesn't have to worry about them. Just age them up and maybe spin the wheels (or maybe just skill and color (maybe two each to make them different) to make a room. But that may be a lot.

Very common for instrumentalists, to get their starts by arranging popular songs for instruments that don't have a written arrangement for it, or by reimagining an arrangement. I like the tiny house with no bridge for Sonny. When I play musical Sims I skill up piano, violin, guitar, organ and singing so I can release a song in each category every week. It takes ages to get all those skills up and write all those songs, but once you have one song for each instrument the income is super passive.

The rent is also counting the "common space". Like the vault of money and the massive expensive structure in the center of your town. If you made a rental lot that was empty, rent would be lower. To be fair, you are using the town hall objects as if they where your home.

Quick tip with the media mix station… dinky beats is a good starter label, but as you get better at mixing, you can eventually get better labels with higher payout. New tastemakers has a higher payout but you have to produce a new track every 2 days or you get dropped. Maxis label also has a higher payout than dinky beats, but I believe it’s less than tastemakers in payout. Also, it gives you three days. Anyway, thank you for the tiny town feast! Love the island build. Keep up the amazing work!

Sonny becoming famous as the crazy guy who plays the pipe organ at the museum in the music enrichment room all day is hilarious to me. Just imagining the sims saying to each other, yeah, some guy just shows up and plays a;l day. He’s getting good, too! Wasn’t at first, though, phew. Maybe a local news segment on it, them interviewing the museum staff who are like, we have no idea who he is, he just shows up.

Sonny should have the barbecue pit as his main cooking source rather than a stove, he can make bigger portions of food and just store them in his fridge. He can also have a cooler/bar, a little stereo that plays 'island' music, and a lounge chair next to the pit so he can relax and tan outside while waiting for the food to finish cooking to give a more 'island/outdoorsy/chill' vibe to his house and lifestyle.

I like the idea that his house is like a studio apartment, but he also has a ladder leading to his music studio. *A studio on top of a studio*. I also prefer no fence, it looks too busy. And even if you fall, it's sand

When I was a kid, one of my favorite books was Andrew Henry's Meadow. Andrew Henry liked to build things but his family did not appreciate his inventions all over the house. So one day he ran away and built his own little home in a meadow. Soon other kids showed up and wanted him to build them homes as well. One girl loved birds so he built her a tree house. A boy loved toy boats so he built him a house over a creek. Etc. Each home was perfect for what the kids loved to do. I have been thinking of that book through this entire series. I always love to watch these videos but this is the first one that brought back the happy memories of being a kid and imagining what kind of home Andrew Henry would have built for me.

Tips in instruments increase per level through multiplication by two. So level one gets §2 as a tip and so on. Entrepreneur skill is for more marketable...? hobbies. So painting, writing and instruments gain entrepreneur skill since you're selling something. Not completely sure about woodworking but I think it works the same.

You should put up a community mailbox in the town hall. Like those fancy that snaps to the wall with lots of mailboxes in them so you get one mailbox and no issue with them

Sonny’s final house should be one of those little shacks on wheels, mobile home style beach houses that you find in areas with lots of beach rentals. Like a little trailer house with lots of outdoor amenities like a fire pit - or maybe the bonfire and the underground grill from island living. As for the water, maybe just have it be shallow in that one area in front of the house and deep everywhere else, then put big rocks for him to appear to walk across on.
