The hooks and cables are brush guards that you run from the front fender to the roof rack on both sides. It pushes branches out of the way so it doesnt scrape up the body and windshield 👍

I believe the wires are brush or bush wires that go from the roof rack corners down to the bonnet or bullbar coners . Only have seen one vid where they where fitted. Great vid thanks 👍

These a neat looking scale crawlers. You're the first person I have seen to compare the size difference between the other FMS 1/24 crawlers and these. That was a good idea. Everyone seems to think these are a trail crawlers,, which seems to be true. I watched one reviewer who put in a 900 mah battery in it and it seem to rock crawl better, which makes no sense. He used the Land Rover. They appear to be a lot fun and the detail is great. You gave it a good test without going crash crawling.

Thanks. Ya that was genuine surprise and alarm when I opened them and saw the size. I’d consider them more trail trucks too which is kinda why I say the rocks are beyond its capabilities. The defender couldn’t even get started on the rocks, just flipped backwards lol. Thanks. 😊

I got mine hung up and it broke a tooth off the front axle pinion gear which locked the front axle and then broke the same pin off the UJ that you broke. I'd watch out about upgrading to metal propshafts that just moves the weak link to somewhere much more fiddly to fix. The seller i got mine from sent me a new pinion and ring gear no problem though it's an axle strip job to fit the new one.

The M stands for Metal as in metal frame, metal diff gears etc. The FCX24 K5 is not really 1/24th it's more like a 1/16th when calculated by width (FS K5 2022mm / FCX24 K5 129 mm). The FCX24M appears to actually be closer to being a 1/24th scale model. I love the looks of the FCX24M's! Can't wait til mine get here.

Interesting. Not in my shop right now but I thought my 24 k5 was a metal frame also. Someone else commented and said they asked FMS directly and they did say it stood for “mini” lol. These are actually pretty sweet models!!

@@DerbyCityRC I could be wrong about it being Metal, however the FCX24 Unimog and K5 have High Strength Integrated Nylon frames according to the FMS website and plastic gears where the M has metal frames and gears. I only own the Unimog so I had to look it up for the K5.

Man. They look extremely cool and I'll get the Discovery as soon as it's available. The only thing that I find super dodgy is how ALL the RC youtubers are reviewing them out of the blue, even when they are still not being sent from any shop. Such evident and huge marketing feels a bit weird, even if the FMS is doing great stuff by any standard.

Ya they can be pre ordered already. I agree this seems to be happening more and more with doing these “pre orders.” Maybe it’s always been there and the whole Rlaarlo fiasco just helped us notice it? I’m also surprised how many yt’ers got these. These came in like a month ago so I figured I’d be one of the last ones but I keep seeing them pop up daily lol
