One OK Rock (stylized in all caps as ONE OK ROCK), is a Japanese rock band, formed in Tokyo, Japan in 2005. The band currently consists of Takahiro Moriuchi (vocalist), Toru Yamashita (guitarist, bandleader), Ryota Kohama (bassist), and Tomoya Kanki (drummer). They play many different styles of music, with songs ranging from alternative rock and emo to post-hardcore and pop rock.[13][14]
The band's name comes from "one o'clock", the time that the band used to practice their music on weekends. They chose to play at one o'clock in the morning because it was cheaper to use the rehearsal space during such hours. However, noticing that the Japanese language made no distinction between R's and L's, "O'CLOCK" transformed into "O'CROCK" or "O'KROCK", which later transformed into "OK ROCK".[15] In addition, One OK Rock can be expressed as "10969" (wan-ō-ku-ro-ku). The band uses both Japanese and English lyrics in their songs.

His name is pronounced Ta-ka just like you would say tada. Also, I think the next song you should do by One OK Rock is No Scared. I would do the music video personally, I don't think Taka does as great of a job at this song live as he usually does, it's a screamo song and it's hard to get just right live. Yeah, the band back in the day had harder songs before anything you've listened to. Their first 3 albums were variations of pop punk and light post hardcore elements, namely inspired by Good Charlotte, Foo Fighters, and The Used. This song gives off a very papa Roach or The Used vibe. Also, the music video is just HILARIOUS and always gets great reactions out of everyone I request it to, which I why I recommend the video over the live. It was filmed back when they first visited America in 2011 i believe. Taka described that time as terrifying, he was feeling like they would never be able to come back here and he wanted to do so much and see so much.

@@hotgame7 You can't do this without knowing the story behind it. In 2016, Japan finally changed their legal voting age to 18. Unfortunately, as this is a more conservative country, many older adults disagreed with this decision. It was a very awkward time because these kids were thrown this surprise right early and they can already live on their own, drink, own a car, but they're STILL seen as children in the eyes of these adults??? NHK organization/tv channel, which is sort of like how PBS used to be but for Japan, decided to produce a documentary about this struggle. They landed on using music as a way to capture the youths feelings. One OK Rock was picked as the focus and they wrote "We Are" for the occasion. They hand picked 1000 18 year olds from across the country to practice the song which nobody had heard before. Eventually, the documentary, which followed some of these 18 year olds as they practiced and talked about their various struggles in life, premiered and following that show.. The band performed the song live with those 1000 18 year olds in the most emotional performance I personally have ever had to watch. I just relate to it so much. The song is about depression and kinda like Renegades is about those who tell you youre worthless and being strong together. No band did this before. Now, every year NHK hosts the "18 Year Festival" with a different band writing the song.
