as a Marine infantryman who served in afghanistan, i slowly started to learn that these people were not savages, most of the time i felt genuinly sorry for them that Israels lobby AIPAC got us into the war with them. most afghans were very friendly with me (even the ones who i knew were unarmed taliban) these people were not terrorist (just because they use IED's to fight us doesnt make them terrorist, thats the same thing any small force would do against a larger force) my point being, i started thinking if i was in their position, in my own country. i would do the same exact thing they did. by the time i went home, i had actually wished we would leave afghanistan, i came to realize we were just an occupying force meant to make corporations rich from our tax dollars. i never thought i would say this (seeing as i did fight against you guys, in multiple engagements) but im glad you won, and i am happy that afghanistan can go on to live in peace for once. perhaps overcoming such a large force is what afghanistan really needed to unite the country. I am sorry for the soldiers on both sides that were lost. it is always the best men of each country who are willing to lay their lifes down for freedom. we americans thought we were fighting for freedom aswell, though, unfortunately as many of us came to realize, we were not. this does make it harder for me to deal with the fact that i have killed Taliban. at the time i beleived the propaganda of them being "terrorist" but after 5 years living around them, it became evident that they're just farmers wanting us to leave them alone. someday i hope i can visit again, not as an occupying force, but as a friend, and get to talk to the locals without fear of getting killed.

TRT needs to re-upload this interview and pay a few translators to better translate this video, it has a very poor translation. My Pashto isn't 100% otherwise I would offer to translate it for free. But I'm sure there must be many Afghans who live in the west and have decent Pashto vocabulary. Kindly better translate this video since you only get 65% to 70% of what he is saying correctly in English. CORRECTION: The translation is only 40% to 55% accurate at times i.e. at key parts.

I have got to almost the end of the video and the translation gets poorer and poorer, it doesn't seem to be deliberate but the guy speaks so clearly but the English skips over his points lol and leaves many of his points out. It seems the translator didn't speak this particular dialect of Pashto or his English comprehension wasn't that good sadly.

I speak pashto too and I think it was totally fine. Im glad they translated via subtitles so both languages could be followed easily. The subtitle was not exactly matching the spoken statement in terms of timestamps, that is true, but otherwise there was no problem with it

Urdu is made up of Persian, Pashto, Turkic and Hindi. Many afghans who had invaded Pakistan and India had started to use a mixed language so everyone could understand it. It’s also why afghans easily understand urdu. It contains words from all the afghan languages like Persian and Pashto
