Great First time pour Shanoo, We had heaps of Burnoffs before we achieved the good one. Keep up.the Wonderful Work on your Unique Channel. Some great info there on the pre Heated Moulds. Need and extra Torch to do though, unless it's on a Heater element. Yeehaaw Baby

Just brought the same mold and cup i will build another blacksmith forge and use coke to heat the graphite cup as i have plenty of coke from my blacksmithing days ya did a pretty good job mate. .ive got a far collection of little fines what i cant do much with.

Shano, Pre heat the mould up before pouring the gold. If yo have a cold mould it will solidify instantily leaving a knarly looking glob. Hope this helps

Definitely heat your mould , I use borax to help get rubbish out. Also an inferred thermometer would help to make sure temp is above 1150 Celsius, I get mine to 1165 before I pour

I do wonder what is in your flux. Something is causing oxidation of the impurities. Usually just borax is used with a little silica.

Good stuff ShaneO , I think you have to put the powder stuff in with the gold first mate and then melt it. You did a good job but you will get better with practice mate , I have seen people use potatoes to melt their gold into buttons. still you got to be happy with that $3K plus an ounce that deserves a Yiiiiiiiihaaaaaaaaaaa lol, stay safe.

Shane'o there is @mmbmllc who collects gold ore and crushes it to a fine powder through the jaw crushers , then the material goes onto a shaking table were the gold is separated and then refined , good show to watch , Cheers .
