I don't have the Kalle pattern but I've seen lots of people make it. The clementine tunic version is exactly how it is meant to be because it's a tunic and designed so you can wear it over leggings or pants etc. You could make some dark green leggings or yoga pants and wear the shirt out over the top which would look lovely. For a stronger pop of colour you could pick out the orange and make leggings out of that colour instead but the dark green would look fantastic.

Thank you for watching. Love the idea of making some dark green or orange leggings to wear with the fun I version! Thanks for your suggestions xx

Both versions are fabulous, they don’t even look like the same pattern, the first one looks Chinese influence especially in the fabric you’ve used, Thank you for sharing x

Fantastic collaboration! I really enjoyed watching both yours and Caths vlogs. I definitely like the shorter version on you the most and I love the fabric that you used for that one also. It's great to see the difference between the two, especially the length. I'm surprised how long the tunic version is! Thanks for sharing xx

Thank you for watching. I think the shorter one is my favourite too. The fabric for the longer version is lovely and soft though. I was really surprised when I finished the tunic. It’s really long xx

Hi Liz, no need to worry about your capabilities, you are very proficient in your sewing. All the things you make look perfect. Love both shirts but my favourite is second one, cream, green with orange & regarding the back, even if you altered it to the same length as the front I’m sure it would still look good. Love all the details you mentions, really interesting. Just going to look at what Cath made.

Both Kalles are lovely, I've made all 3 lengths. The length at the back of tunic is correct, it's not especially much longer at the back more that there is a deep curve at the side, I tend to wear mine with jeggings or skinny jeans.😊

Thank you - reassuring you hear I didn’t mess the pattern up with the length! Good idea to wear it with skinny jeans or jeggings xx

Hi Liz, I love both your versions 👌💕. I have made three Kalle shirt's and they are all the cropped versions...one with the popover placket, one with a covered placket and the last with sleeves from the add on pattern. I'm a big fan of the style but I agree that the back of them do seem a little too long, but I think that's just the style. I've decided on my next version, that I'll shorten the back a little to suit me 👍. I do think that on some people, the longer back looks great but I think it's down to the individual on that don't you 😊. The covered placket had me scratching my head for a while too 😋. Loving this collaboration and just going to watch Cath's video 😁👍😘

Thank you so much for watching. I’m definitely planning more but like you think I’ll stick with the cropped version - the back and the style is more me. Good idea to shorten the back. Xx

You've done a lovely John on your garments, but I agree the pullover shirt is too long. If it was mine I would shorten it. You've put so much effort into making these that it seems a shame not to go the extra effort to shorten it. Happy sewing!

Nice makes for both. I would reduce the back of the second make so that the front to back is less dramatic and flow better.

Lovely makes. I also found the tunic length far too long and I’m 5’10”. I think the problem is that it’s just out of proportion. I shortened mine so that the front and back looked in better balance. Also I prefer the inverted pleat to the box pleat, as it seems to drape better, but that’s just my personal preference. I love both of you chosen fabrics too.
@Thebakerthatsews

Thank you - interesting to hear your experience using the pattern for version 2. I think you’re right and it’s out proportion which is why it looks odd. I’m going to chop the back to make it shorter xx

The first pair are my pink Mia jeans from the Sew Over it e-book, the second pair are my green corduroy Jessa trousers by Tilly and the buttons and the final pair of trousers I’m wearing are the light blue chambray bastion culottes by Jennifer Lauren Handmade. Hope that’s answered your question - I wasn’t sure which pair you were referring to so mentioned all the trousers I’m wearing xx 💖
