Hello. Regarding the Paddington dress. Put the sleeves from the dress with the blouse and make new sleeves for the dress out of the fabric that you have for the blouse. x

Hi Liz, I think you should firstly try swapping the sleeves over and if that doesn’t work, just either cut some new plain white or plain red sleeves and attach those, leaving the rest of the fabric you have for a blouse xx

I really like how the paddington sleeve is on one side and the bus all together on the other side. If it annoys you, so that you won't wear it, then it would be worth changing it, but I really like how it is.

I love the Zog and Paddington dresses and your daughter's jacket. I really like repurposing fabrics. I have a skirt and 3 tops made from a king size flat sheet that I just loved. Your school children are lucky to have their own Ms Frizzle!

Aa always, I love your makes and vlog. I think - recut the sleeves as it is a gorgeous dress and your students will love it. I work in a secondary school, and we are proactively addressing the decline in reading. Your Paddington Bear fabric encourages children to read and develop their creative skills. You are an inspiration to the sewing community and the precious children in your school ❤

Love all your makes... WOW! Fabulous!! 🤩 If the sleeves bother you, save them for another project and find some Paddington red fabric for the sleeves. The Zog dress looks great with the orange sleeves. Wish I had your energy for all the plans you have. Can't wait to see what you make next!🌻💐🌹🌺🌼🥰

Hi Liz, one thought about the sleeves on the paddington sleeves, can you look at the sleeve cap on the pattern piece and see how different the front and back parts are? Then, if it’s not much different recut the top shape to make them fit the opposite side? It might make the sleeves a bit shorter but hopefully not by much. Then you can save the rest of your fabric for the blouse. Also check the opposite side of the sleeve to make sure the patterning works out how you hope if you swap them. 😉. Love the zog dress although I’m not familiar with the character/stories. Many projects to keep you busy, enjoy the journey.

Love the Paddington dress so much! I think you should have a go at switching over the sleeves since you mentioned that it bothered you and it would be a shame to not wear it. You could compare the front and back of the sleeve head on the pattern piece - if they're different you could re-cut the top of the sleeves so they would fit in the armscye better/hang nicely. You'd end up with slightly shorter sleeves but that way you'd be able to use the spare fabric for something else. Your rainbow godet dress is going to be fab. Not long until the end of term now - power through 💪

Love the dress you are wearing. I do think you should try swapping the sleeves over on your Paddington dress. Most sleeves would work, but if they don't, you said you do have more fabric which you could use. Good luck with that. Thanks for (as ever) an enjoyable video.

I agree with Karen from Sew Little Time. It's such a striking dress, and the oops really draws attention away from the overall effect of the fabric. I'll bet you'll be able to make those sleeves work, even if you have to redraw the sleeve heads, and they end up being a bit less full. It looks like you have plenty of fabric in them to work it out.

Hello Liz your Paddington dress is adorable and to make it more adorable I think you should change the sleeves because they're too close to each other and doesn't compliment the beauty of the dress. Just my opinion sweetie. It really is so cute😍

Before you decide to swap the sleeves of the Paddington dress check the pattern pieces to check the differences. Then decide if it is possible to simply swap the sleeves. You won't be happy with them the way they are so you can then make the decision whether to re-cut the sleeves. You may still have enough fabric to make a garment as you'll have the old sleeve fabric to use.

I think you should treat the buses and paddington's close together as an intentional design element. I kind of like it that way. And I tend to agree with your thoughts about swapping the sleeves will make it feel weird. There definitely is a back and front of a sleeve and it will never be comfortable if they are flipped. Ask me how I know that😂

@ thank you! Btw your paddington no dress is amazing. I think if you can switch the sleeves that would be ideal. Alternatively if you can get some white fabric of similar quality, you could make the sleeves in white and use the bus and paddington From the original sleeves to appliqué onto the sleeves. This may all be too much hassle and leaving them where they are may not bother you as much as you think they may.

Hi Liz. I have an idea for you to consider on the Paddington dress: what if you put silver zigzag trim around each armhole (hopefully the kind with metallic multi-color highlights) to mimic a mirror so the sleeves would look like the reflections of Paddington and the bus on the bodice? As usual, you have lots of fun and wonderful projects, Antonia

If you don't mind the sleeves being a couple of cm. shorter, you can switch the sleeves around and recut the top part of them so they have a proper front and back rather than just using the way they are cut now. That wouldn't be as comfortable. I've done it before and it works fine as long as the sleeve length is still to your liking. It really is too bad that you can't get juvenile type prints for teens, because I've noticed many of them really enjoy wearing those prints. I suspect it's a last hurrah before adulthood. But it's really common to enjoy childhood favourites as a teen.

I wonder if you could swap the sleeves, cutting them down slightly if you have to to make them fit the other sides.. They are so voluminous that making them a little less so would not be noticeable.. I know what it's like to have something that simply bothers you! It will not do in the long run. Love all your literary makes!

You could take the sleeves of and baste them to try a swap. If it doesn’t work you could make new ones. Since they are full it may not make much of a difference.

Hi! The Paddington dress is super nice but I would recut the sleeves. I think if you swap them, you will get the same (sleeve with bus on back and Paddigton on front will be bus on front and Paddington on the back if you swap it. Or am I wrong?). They are big so you could re-use them in the blouse.

If you unpick the current sleeves, you could just recut the top of them to match the opposite curve (which would make them slightly shorter), and then you could reinsert them in the opposite armholes. How much do the sides of the sleeve cap vary on the pattern?

If you swap the sleeves, the dress would be exactly the same. I would cut othes if I had fabric. The fabric alone is staple, I would be fine with one garment.

That’s what I thought too, when the sleeves are swapped the current backs will become fronts and the dress will be the same as it is now. I would cut the new sleeves either out of your remaining Paddington fabric or some plain fabric. It is a fabulous dress though, the children at school will love it. If not too expensive you could just buy another duvet set.
