*Thanks, ordered one.* Installed the Ring Door View Cam yesterday but it only supports a single size so I can't use it, unfortunately. So I'll give this one a try. Only downside I see is you lose access to the peephole (unlike with the one from Ring), but hey, if it fits, I'll give it a shot. Thanks again for the video!

i haven't really played with Ring so I am not too sure. but i know lots of people have it and they like it. Hopefully, we'll do more family video in near future.

Rephrase , unit connects to WiFi no problem, Ithe phone app doesn’t connect to the unit after reading the OCR code

Bought a brand new, never lived-in house with one of these installed. But I am unable to add it to my account as it says it is already connected to someone else's account. I have tried everything customer service has said to try, even directing me to install some other weird app to unlink it...why can't the company just unlink it from the account that it's linked to?? So it's basically JUNK!

video is 720p. not sure about frame rate. but why does it matter? format is MP4

Hi Sam great video, I installed the cam etc, but I cannot pair my iPhone with the device, when I try to scan the code from their app, I receive a "device not supported message " , do you have any experience with this. I rang their support, they told me to use the LaView connect instead , but this gave the same result!!!?

not sure what is causing that. as for me, i didn't have any problem pairing my iphone. only thing i can say is that make sure you get the latest app from the app store.

Same issue. Use Laview One, Life and Net. Nothing. Still, it either says it is not supported or say the serial number is invalid. Contacted support. No answer so far. But all their apps do not list my model under compatible devices. Limme know if you got any luck getting it to work

Cooper DMselector hi, support suggested I use an android phone!!!! Very strange answer. Tried with a different iPhone and iPad, all gave same result, device not supported, it’s also strange I cannot find a firmware update page for this particular device while there are many for the rest of their products!!

@@mytanlau I am using an android device and it does not work. My camera says its up to date. Matter of fact the same firmware in Sam's video. Am waiting for support to reply. Will update you if I got something. Sad, I bought it for this one feature and it did not work. :(

Hi again. I have tried Laview Connect and it worked! It took a while to register the device but it did work. I can watch my front door from my mobile at the office now. Thanks for the suggestion

I don't want a doorbell on the camera. In fact I don't want an ugly honking camera visible at all. I want the person at my door to think I don't have a camera, so that they won't stick a piece of chewing gum on it. How hard is this...?

even if they put gun on it, it will capture on the video who did it. but having a visiable camera does have an adventage. most theifs don't want any trouble, so if they see a camera, they usually don't bother you and move on to other house without the camera.

Dude, you can wire and camera to the door. Have ya see how small they can get. They fit in a 1/16 drill bit. Just buy any "Spy cam" take off all the fake shape (Clock, USB, Charger or whatever) Drill and fix. Easy

peephole is now video camera. there is no need to use the peephole. you can just view on the monitor, or smart phone.

Can you still use this cam without the smart cell? My parents are 90 and 91 y/o and they are very old school. Thanks.

Whole purpose is to use the smart phone. because smart phone app wll give you alert when someone is a the door and you can check the video etc.
