Hopped on YT for Review/Demo's of the ToneWoodAmp now it's had more than a few years to settle in and happened upon your YT Vid. Thank you for sharing this absolutely brilliant and hypnotic tune Pitch Pirate. So Reminds me of the lovely old mournful and evocative laid far back Celtic vibe....as in early VtM..just lovely and very skilful understated playing. I have been playing guitar for well over 55 years, so feel that I have more than a few cents worth of comment here. You have that very rare skill of restraint in your approach and rendition, usually only born of a true and natural creativity.....You def understand and apply the..." Less is More" maxim. Thanks man, o genuinely try to aim for that. The key to my songwriting is a focus on the subtle, I have many techniques that are really interesting or fancy but I refuse to use them until there’s a song / part that genuinely needs them :D

Short story no. Mine would kind of but it’s a pricey piece of wood. Soundhole pickups kind of. I have a mic and piezo on an AP5pro . Best system I’ve ever used

Great stuff man. I have a Dean acoustic with both a piezo under saddle pickup and a transducer pickup (separate plug ins to a single pre Amp) I also use the TWA on this guitar and I just can’t seem to get the same soud out of the body of the guitar when I incorporate percussive elements. Which ever effect I have on with the TWA seems to generate more with the strings and drowns out the percussive elements, almost to the point it sounds messy. Any advice?

Hey man, thank you for the good words :D Here are some points to try and aid you and your percussive endeavours ! 1) mess with the gain and volume balance a lot on the TWA on each setting, I try and push it right to the limit before it feeds back to get the most noise I can 2) move the transducer around if possible, see where your guitar does and doesn’t react the most this is my maton messiah 808, the whole guitar is insanely alive, if you scratch the head stick, it comes out the sound hole. That might also be something to consider, all guitars are different ! Also recorded this on a super sensitive H6 zoom device , that also picks up every little knock and noise I make

It’s actually an Lr baggs m80 , the recent comes from the guitar also using a tonewood amp :) Whole thing is just the original audio recorded from a zoom H6

Hello, what do you feel about the tone of Maton Messiah when it is unplugged?

abc Wong in standard tuning it is perfect tone for me. Using 12 gauge strings. I used to have the dreadnaught body size which I preferred for alternate tunings like this. However I had to sell it a while back They sound amazing I love them. If you want I can do a video of just the clean acoustic sound ?

I had a listen and it’s a nice little example ! For bending the notes I found for me it was literally a case of using the B string to tune 1/2 step up and down with my open tuning After a whole lot of just getting used to tuning it up and down with my chord it then became strumming and tuning , then fingerpicking and tuning Not sure if that helps but 🤷‍♂️ is what it is
