This is my favorite chapter of Egghead so far, and that's high praise given its competition. There were so many reveals this chapter, and so many good moments both comedically and seriously. Imu is already proving themselves to be the most imposing One Piece villain of them all, and that's just in their first chapter speaking at length.

I did not think that Imu and the Five elders were that monstrous. Imu literally transformed and ate Sabo’s flame attack like it’s nothing. Seeing what Imu and the five elders really are sent a massive chill down my spine. It’s like they are actual demons. Oda did a great showcasing how sinister they are. Inside and Out

Imu refers to the void century like he was there, on page 2 Cobra mentions that Imu was the name of one of the first 20 and the Elder Stars were looking for the Ope-Ope no Mi for its ability to give immortality, they had to know that it actually worked. Also the Den Den scene is what was shown in the newspaper saying that Sabo killed Cobra.

There’s another theory that Imu ate a fruit that’s related to what we call “void”. This being Imu referred to itself as “Mu” which could refer to void. That would make sense if you think about the “void century”. Also it could be symbolic as the world of One Piece thinks that nobody sits on the empty throne. As in “Void” sits there but no one knows it. Btw I took this theory from Tekking so shout out to him.

Considering people have linked IM with the mythic figure of Mother Sea what if the elders powers stem from the opposite of the DF which are Cosmic Eggs tying into the elders planetary theme and eggs are veg which in turn are classed as the opposite of fruits. Furthermore cosmic eggs are a recurring theme in creation myths and in Greek myths are seen as eggs with a serpent wrapped around the egg and this is what the mysterious red spotted egg was on the Oro Jackson.

After reading this chapter, now I know why Saturn companied Kizaru to Egghead. Saturn's not here to control the Seraphims. He's there to unleash his true form. I'm not sure if the rest of the Marines knew about the Gorosei powers. At least that explains why few of the Goroseis have scars, and one of them carrying a sword. I'm curious about Imu's voice. How will Imu's voice sound like, in next years anime. Will Imu be voiced by a man, woman, or maybe mysterious? The chapter also showcases Imu's terrifying powers...🤔🤔 The last part was extremely funny, where Kinderella thought her husband's cheating on her. If I were Kinderella, I'd dump Wapol and find a new lover.😂😂

@ItsDone I'm not sure about that, but it could trigger Luffy being the most dangerous threat to Imu. I could see the news mentioned that the Straw Hats 'kidnapped' Vegapunk is gonna be huge news. In this chapter, despite Cobra sacrificing his life for Sabo, the World Government framed the Flame Emperor. Imagine how the world minus the Straw Hats allies and the Revolutionary Army reacts when they read the news about Vegapunk being 'kidnapped'.

I have some theories for some of the things that could happen in one piece: Theory 1: Devil Fruits and their Origins - Devil Fruits were once real people, and anyone who was not at the location of the 20 kingdoms when the world was transformed became a Devil Fruit. - It seems strange to me that Celestial Dragons like Charlois don't possess some of the strongest Devil Fruits. - Zoan type fruits could have originally been real animals. - The reason Doflamingo wasn't accepted back into Mariejois could be because he had eaten a Devil Fruit and not the killing of his father. - King's appearance with rubber-like abilities and the possibility of Joyboy being a Lunarian could be connected. - You might say how is it that joyboy had such a big strawhat (his mom was a lunarian and a size queen) - Imu and the elder stars might have natural-born powers instead of Devil Fruits. - Devil Fruit awakenings could allow fully awakened users to communicate with the real person in the devil fruit. - The term "Devil Fruits" and the portrayal of enemies of the World Government as devils like Nico Robin could have a symbolic meaning. Theory 2: The One Piece's Nature It's unclear to me why Imu or Akainu doesn't simply destroy the One Piece, which makes the presence of the bottle of sake unlikely to me. - The reason for not reaching the One Piece for 800 years remains unknown. - If Joyboy or Lily's story (Cause roger called it a story) is embarrassing for Imu, it could explain why the World Government go so hard against anyone trying to find the One Piece. - The One Piece might hold some significance or have sentimental value for Imu, which prevents its destruction. - The construction of the bridge could be used to reach the One Piece somehow. Additional Theory: Pell's Fate There are two possibilities for Pell's fate for me: - He could be an ancient weapon that cannot transform into his battleship form or a construct that could be reassembled. - Pell could be one of the four special Devil Fruit users, alongside Marco, emphasizing the rarity of their flight-related Devil Fruit abilities. This is just my headcannon and not fully fleshed out yet cause we don't have all of the puzzle pieces yet. Also english is not my first language so this isn't written perfectly

I'm wondering if, since the Gorosei are the Five Elder Stars, their devil fruit powers are related to constellations. I need to brush up on my astrology/astronomy, but at the very least, the bull/ox looking one could be Taurus. Also, I saw this elsewhere, but Luffy being Joyboy and now Sabo being SaDbo(y) appear to have been hinted back on Ace's hat. On it, there are two faces, one smiling and the other frowning. Very possible to be coincidence or a retcon, but that's a pretty neat observation.

I saw a video earlier from Joyboy Theories speculating that Imu had a literal Devil Devil Fruit. Like how Joyboy is the embodiment of people's hopes and dreams, Imu is the embodiment of people's fear. Definitely give it a look if you have time, it's at the end. "Bear the flag of the Dawn against this SLEEPing world"? And Dawn, or Dream...c'mon... The world is asleep and trapped in a nightmare? People's dreams will never die? I figured out what the gorosei silohuettes are based on, they are animals associated with planetary constellations of their greek versions, Gorbechev's is the Ram or Golden Ram Tall Ganfall looking one is the eagle Aquila Samurai Ghandi is the dove Columba or its the human human model: Hachiman Blonde Gorosei is a bit tricky, its a tortoise with the harp(the Lyre) so maybe a music related turtle Saturn is Ophion or an Ophiontaurus(half bull half serpent) And Imu is based off the Bootes Void constellation of herdsman(or Mu Serpentis) which is hard to pin an animal too for me atm(i still think Imu has the snake snake model: Ouroboros) and if its the Ouroboros then u guessed it right as one of your past videos u mentioned the Ouroboros

A little update. Just did some more ancient Goddess studying. Imu is definitely some moon or night Goddess. In the Greek Pantheon her powers seem similar to Luna/Artemis and the Primordial God Nyx who is born for Chaos. God of Night married her brother darkness. Is literally the moniker of all Darkness

I looked it up cause it seemed interesting the Imu refers to themselves as Mu. Imu (in my Google translate) means "hatred", the name used by the five elder stars. Mu means "nothing". I wonder if Oda is giving off a hint or a personality, or if its just translator error.

I think the Gorousei fruits have to be connected to creator god and or fire because none of them were fazed by an attack by Sabo who is one of the strongest characters currently. My bets are Garuda, Osiris or Horus, Thunderbird, That elephant that is a legendary mount (can´t remember the name) and Sutr or a Fire Giant from the Ragnarok

All the animal references are crazy too. Most of the Gorosei look like animal shapes, bull, toad, phoenix, salamander, elephant. Cobra gets murdered. Monkey D Luffy. We got a giant elephant roaming the seas, Kozuki crest is a phoenix/bird, Smiley had the shape of a quatzalotl/salamander, there has to be something there either for foreshadowing what we just learned in this chapter or some kind of parralel to good and evil/yin and yang. All of them are based on god-like figures from different folklore in one way or another. Oda be playing those Shin Megami Tensei games i bet. lol.

I also think "Mu" is intentional and tied to advanced civilization from 800 years ago. From wikipedia: Mu is a mythical lost continent introduced by Augustus Le Plongeon (1825-1908), who identified the "Land of Mu" with Atlantis.

I dont want to be the party crasher, but th so called "D" on the sail beneath Vivi in 823 is in fact the upper part of an "R". On the first panel of the chapter you see the complete text on the sail. It's: "ARABASTA".
