Yes, Oda loves to play with the dualities of family lineages. With the donquixote family: Doffy is pure evil while his brother is morally good. Shanks is also altruistically good while his relative seems to be heartless. It’s good to keep these dualisms in mind, I don’t think Oda is finished with duality at all in his story. Same can be said for foreshadowing.

A little detail I think will fly under people's radar: We see exclamations of "There's no bread! There's no Water!", indicating that the food shortage is quite bad. But we also see an exclamation of "All we have is cake!". Which I think is a nice reference to what Marie-Antoinette supposedly said: "Let them have cake!", in response to her being told that her servants don't have anything to eat. I find that quite ironic.

Something to keep in mind: There are Eastern astrological considerations with the planets Oda could be drawing from as well. Mars (火星) is also associated with fire, red, summer, and the Vermillion bird. Venus is (金星) associated with metal/gold, color white (think about what color Ethan V. Nasujuro is wearing) and can also refer to money (finance). The planets are named after the Chinese five elements in Japanese. It's interesting to think which cultures he may take inspiration from!

The chapter before this one was crazy. But honestly, this one is also crazy, it's just more low-key about it. Here are the things I find astounding with this chapter: - Getting a name for the weapon that nuked Lulusia. - The names of the members of the Gorosei (mind you, they were first shown nearly 900 chapters ago and it took that long to reveal their names). - The reveal of S-Flamingo, S-Bat and S-Crocodile. - The family name of Imu. Not only that, but Ivankov is the one revealing it, implying that Ivankov and Dragon have some degree of knowledge about the Void Century (Robin told them?). - Ivankov openly stating the fan-theory about Imu having been made immortal by the eternal youth surgery of the Op-Op Fruit. - The reveal that the Mother Flame was somehow created by Vegapunk. - The introduction of Figarland Garling. Former king of God Valley, current leader of the God's Knights, and very likely the father of Shanks. Absolutely juicy stuff, the one month break couldn't have come at a worse time to give us a huge cliffhanger, but the wait will be worth it for Oda to get better!

For the whole thing of Imu saying "because its close proximity" to vaporize Lulusia I personally didn't see it as the attack happening during the phone call being just a coincidence and more Imu reminding the Gorosei who is in charge. Basically Imu going "Did I stutter?" by giving such a banal answer when the Gorosei asked him why destroy that island. I think attacking Lulusia was a tactical response, Imu knew Sabo was injured and the nearest island (or one of) would be probably the most logical conclusion for where he'd end up as he'd need medical attention as soon as possible. Imu might not be able to tell where he went but is likely intelligent enough to figure it out. That's the feeling I got from the way Imu seemed to be speaking when asked why

I think the will of D means "The will of dragons". Tekking stated at 7:15 that Vivian and Walpol are travelling to Aegis, the Greece of one piece world. Well, Nefatari D. lily could be said as Nefatari Dragon Lily. Interesting enough, a dragon lily is originally found in Greece, Crete, on the Aegean Islands...So the ancient kingdom was ruled by the dragon clan and the devils fruits were actually called dragonfruits. dragonfruits in real life look like devil fruits in one piece.

Isn't actually a middle name but a representation of a group or clan. Eg. Monkey D. Luffy coukd be said like, Monkey Luffy of the Dragon clan/kingdom/people. Something along those lines. Everyone that has the D in thier name might mean thier family supported this mysterious group.

Somebody noted that Figarland Garling looks remarkably similar to Crescent Moon Galley, one of the early enemies that Oda designed for the original Romance Dawn series. Garling also sounds almost like Galley so that's pretty cool. Shanks protects the weak and his viewpoint directly contradicts Garling's viewpoint. Looking forward to another God's Knight video or one on that theory!

Crescent Moon Galley also showed up in Logue Town, robbing the port before heading to the Grand Line, but he was arrested by Smoker. I'm not sure if this was anime filler, but it was in the episode where Smoker was introduced. He arrested Galley with the Plum-Plum fruit, but it was kept vague as to not spoil the inevitable confrontation with Luffy.

As a Romanian, the castle in the background of Lulusia looks like a mix between Bran (Dracula's) Castle and Corvin Castle, both in Transylvania. The ship that arrives later at Kamabakka also has some towers on it that look very similar to the ones on Bran Castle. Also Seki can be related to the Szekely people who are the Hungarian ethnic minority in Transylvania.

A bilge is a space under the lower deck/inside-bottom of boats and ships. Ships naturally take on small amounts of water from waves and rain, which collects at the bottom of the boat, so there is usually a bilge pump that removes the accumulated water.

Going to put this out there. I don't think this Mother Flame is the weapon used, but rather its power source. Vegapunk did say that ancient kingdom tech did run on a sort of "flame". If we assume this IS Uranos, then it would explain why they waited until now to bust it out: they didn't have any way to properly power it until now. We've seen that he calls Momo's fruit a failure because he didn't get the color right despite being a blow for blow match- ability-wise. Vegapunk could have put out a "flame" close enough for the WG's purposes (powering their ancient weapon), but falling short of his own standards. In fact, I'm going to call it. This is exactly what happened and Vegapunk has written it off as a failure because the real flame and his copy of it are different colors!

Gorbachev Gorosei's name is spelled トップマン・ヴォーキュリー, which is closer to being read as "Topman Volcury/Vōcury". "Valkyrie" in Japanese katakana is spelled ワルキューレ or ヴァルキュリー. It's sort of similar to each other but different for a reason, cuz you take マ (Ma) from トップマン (Topman) and ーキュリー (-cury) from ヴォーキュリー (Volcury) and form the word, as you guessed, Maacury/マーキュリー (Mercury) V. Nasujuro is pretty self-explanatory. V. Nasu = Venus The "Ju" in Sheperd Ju Peter is actually a kanji for 10, ju/十. I think the implication with Vegapunk and the weapon is that the World Government had one of the ancient weapons, but it didn't work because it had no power. However, Vegapunk created a power source, which was then used by the World Government to power the weapon. Vegapunk's source is probably not good enough to use the weapon all the time, so they are limited on how much they can use it.

The Imu being "Umi" theory doesn't hold water (pun intended) if you know your Japanese.. yes Umi is Japanese for ocean, but you cannot reverse the Katakana for Imu to create Umi, if you reverse the Katakana Imu becomes Mui. I think that mother flame is just straight up nuke. Mayby vegapunk wanted to use this power for energy, and this is failed project, that gorosei saw and went "That might be usefull"

I've been rereading lately, and in Volume 3, during Buggy's flashback with Shanks, Shanks said something really interesting that caught my attention. I think this is really relevant to him and Luffy finally meeting again. He is speaking with Buggy about going your own way being key to being a pirate. Then he also agrees to fight Buggy to a fight to the finish if they meet as captains on the seas, he says that's also what being a pirate is about. And now I can't stop thinking about him fighting Luffy and everyone thinking he's a God's Knight

Crazy theory. What if the Elder Stars and their secret puppet master are planning a war on Desire itself? Desire is a trait of free will and independent thought, neither of which lines up with how the current World Government is being handled by the top brass. On top of that, Desire was said to be a factor in the origins of Devil Fruit. And in the same arc, Vegapunk revealed that he split parts of himself into separate bodies to help with his work. Including York, who he made using his trait of Desire. I'm wondering if York wanting the life of a Celestial Dragon is the result of the Elder Stars manipulating her as part of an elaborate plan to study her and figure out more about Desire and how to get rid of it.

Shanks' father looks like a MOON (crescent moon) and Shanks was wearing clothes with MOON,SUN and STAR print when Roger saw him in a chest in God Valley. I know it's pretty much implied that Garling is Shanks' pappy. But I think it's an interesting details.

I didn’t get the impression that Mother Flame was the name of the weapon. When Vegapunk explained the giant robot he mentioned it ran off a power source the ancient kingdom had that he’s been trying to replicate. Makes more sense that the mother flame is his version of that power source and the weapon is in fact Uranos which uses it as fuel.
