This might actually explain why WB never went to check out Wano again if Yamato was identifying herself as Kozuki Oden and met Ace. After watching RogersBase's review, now I kind of want Yamato as the newest Straw Hat Pirate as well. I mean, I can see Yamato building a connection with Luffy, since Yamato also has a history with Ace, not to mention if Yamato truly wants to be like Kozuki Oden, he/she should join the Straw Hat Pirates on their journey to Laugh Tale and the end of the Grand Line, just like Oden did with Gol D. Roger's crew... But I still also want Carrot to join as well, and with them saving their celebration for Jimbei joining until after Kaido is defeated, I feel like that's a LOT of potential new members all at once. RogersBase keeps bringing up how Oda said Straw Hat Pirates will join "one after the other", but I tried looking this up a while back and I couldn't find an exact quote of him saying that. If he did say that, could someone point me in the direction as to where. Either way, I'm not sure what to think of Yamato potentially joining the Straw Hat Pirates, but I definitely approve of it, if it does happen.

That actually makes a lot of sense! Ace and Yamato grew close during Ace's stay in Wano. A few years after Ace left Wano, Yamato heard of his upcoming execution from Kaido. She could have escaped Onigashima during the events of the war and attempted to rescue him. Since the war was broadcast worldwide thanks to Buggy, Shanks may have met Yamato while they were en route and informed them of Ace's death and told them to head back home.

Technically they did 'knock them out'. Both of them were OUT for a few seconds, if not a few minutes. They have a ton of defense and recovery though as ancient(and maybe awakened) zoans so they got back up. Neither Luffy not Yamato were going for a kill.

Nah, Yamato is Ace's girlfriend and Kaido was furious when he found out. So when Ace was being executed, she wanted to come save him and this pissed off Kaido. Oda definitely left us the crumbs on purpose: Yamato wearing a Hannya mask, Oden telling Kaido to build up his strength because he will become a story that "accompanies your drinks", Oden's execution being a spectacle that basically the whole country witnessed, Ace being revealed to have visited Wano and even befriending several people there, Kaido himself said "they will speak of you for years to come", etc.

The way I interpreted it, Kaido calling his daughter ,Yamato, his son is more of an insult or him being condescending, sort of a "fine you want to pretend to be the idiot lord - then you're my idiot son" you know what I mean? Yamato also is going to have to learn how to- figuratively- step out of Oden's shadow and shoes as well eventually ,and accept herself as the daughter of Kaido, escpecially if she's going to fight against him and, very escpecialy, if this arc ends in Kaido's death... *edit* also something else I found interesting is that Yamato doesn't want to be a man, she wants to be Oden, everything else was just a step included in playing the role. Much in the same way someone would want to be a celebrity or their favorite superhero or idol, though she has taken it much further to the point of rebellion - she's idolised Oden to the point of even referring to his logbook as her "Bible" . everything else that follows is simply a consequence or reaction based on this descision... *Part 2 in the reply*

Yamato's goal isn't to pretend to be a man. Her goal, I'd say, is to completely imitate Oden so - she'll be whoever Oden was, if he was a mink she'd try to be a mink, if he was a fishman she'd try to be a fishman, and if he was a rock she'd pull out the the best rock costume she has 😄... ironically she may have the same self worth issues as Momo, neither of them can seem to maintain the image or standards that the predeccesors and guardians in their respective lives want them to be.They've (currently) lost themselves and both of them are trying desperatley to be Oden as some sort of childish fantasy, but in the end the reality will either sink in or hit them both right in their faces. I think they'll find that neither of them will ever be able to BE Oden, and they'll have accept themselves for who they really ARE 😊...

My 2 little theories at the moment are that we'll have a doubles sibling battle between izo+kiku Vs ulti+page one, and that kaidos project will involve the full takeover of wano and disposing of orochi as he'll have no need for him now. I feel like orochi was their to bait the scabbards to kaido in order for him to try getting any intel about laughtale, and seeing as how they didn't seem to know then I think he'll have run his use.
