@@bcool9272 I don't think Oda had anything to do with the confirmation, but producers have said they already have plans out to a season 6, and are hoping to make it to a season 12. That's a lot of ambition, but it does make me hopeful.

Also the reason why Luffy didn’t put out the fire and stay on that boat that the Live Action didn’t point out is Luffy’s outrageous sense of fair play. He didn’t “earn” Alvida’s ship the “right” way. He believes he should only get something he really works for in the best way, not defeating someone and take what’s theirs. It’s not how his sense of piracy would work since Shanks was the same way.😊

Shanks told Luffy when he was a kid that his scars were evidence of the dangers of the sea, so kid Luffy went and cut (scar) his own face to prove he was ready :) I've seen a lot of reactors be confused by that part lol. Nice reactions! Keen for more

One Piece is the greatest story ever told. It's heartwarming to see it brought to new people who wouldn't otherwise see or read it. You say the amount of chapters/episodes is daunting but once you get into it you never want it to end. Which it is wrapping up. Started in 1997 and now we're in the final saga. Finally it's coming to an end so good time to hop aboard the journey.

Glad that you giving a shot to SB19 Ken’s fav anime. Well technically its a Live Action. But the story is still kinda close also to the source anime and manga. If you will remember, Ken mentioned on Zach Sang Show that his Fav anime character is Red Haired Shanks. That is why he tried red hair on in the past.

OMG!! I am so happy you guys decided to check out One Piece! I think what really made this an amazing adaption is that Eiichiro Oda was there working with them and telling them yes and no. He personally approved the actors who played all the main characters. The writers say that season 2 is written and we should hopefully see it 12-18 months after the strike ends, so fingers crossed. I am so happy you two enjoyed this journey with us fans. Welcome to the world of One Piece guys!! Great reaction!! By the way, the girls name is Nami.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say if they keep making this live action series and its quality doesn't tank, it's really hard to recommend the anime. The manga, sure - shonen manga reads fast and you can get through ~8 episodes of the anime in about ~30 minutes of reading the manga (plus the anime changes certain things in ways that kind of miss the point of what was going on in the manga). There are strong arguments to be made that this series is a more spiritually faithful adaptation of the manga than the anime ever was, because it does a better job contrasting those dark and messed up moments with the fun and levity. While the live action does shift around the timeline a bit to introduce later plotlines early, most people will agree this is probably an objectively good thing - Oda himself has noted that certain things take so long to happen in the manga because he just didn't realize sooner that he wanted to keep a character in the story, or give them a particular arc, etc etc. and that if he'd thought of it earlier he wouldn't have waited so long. Keeping characters relevant after being introduced, rather than putting them in the attic for 400 chapters, is probably the way to go for an adaptation like this.

I'll say only one thing: One Piece is about the journey, not about the destination. Who cares how much there is for you to 'catch up': as long as you are enjoying the journey, that is all that matters. In fact, it is probably a good thing because if you do like the story, it won't be for a very long time until you run into the wall of running out of it!

I feel like this is manga accurate, because when I watched it, I immediately remembered important parts of the manga and anime that I had read and watched when I was a kid. I've watched all 8 episodes. Only if you say it's better than the manga, no it's not. If you say it's worse, no, it's not. You can't compare them because they have their own interests. So far, this is number 2 the best. Number 1 is still Alice in Borderland Live action netflix series. and number 3, Rurouni kenshin movie 1-5.
