The way you two were smiling, crying & laughing, throughout this show is exactly why I love One Piece live action. Some fans of the anime still rejected this despite the critical acclaim and how many new fans the show has pulled in. The showrunners really knows what they're doing, and with the guidance & blessings of Eiichiro Oda. They truly have created something special here. I'm sure they have even more epic stories for us in season 2. And yes, the scripts for season 2 has been finished according to the producers!

The live action wasn't perfect we fans know it but we still love it because it made us relive onepiece once again even if there were some miss here and there. And some fans who hate on this live action just because it isn't perfect replication of anime or saying anime is better is just dumb, of course anime is better but i don't see why as a fan u would hate the live action. You should love and appreciate that our favourite anime is getting more recognition and appreciation, i am sure the people who said they won't watch onepiece because it's too long are able to appreciate it with this live action!!! They are just fake fans.

The series goes off the rails after east blue. It's tough, like really really tough to adapt alabasta into 8 eposodes with the budget they have, then there's also chopper. Let's see how they handle it. I'm hopeful though.

I love that Achara basically cried every episode since ep 5. Jaby was close to tearing up too but the tears never left his eyes. Just goes to show how good they adapted the crew's backstory. And WITHOUT FILLERS to boot! I'm a happy fanboy right now.

They know how to end the season, they didn't end it with a great fight scene, or a cliffhanger, they end it with the crew reaffirming their dreams which is the main theme of the show.

Death note live action adaptation movie or whatever it was supped to be was the sh*tiest thing I've ever noticed, not watched beause i couldn't even bear my sisters watching that nonsens the cast was the most horrible ever possible, the actors were mediocre like they didn't even understood the characters they were supposed to be, L is iconic charcetrr but they changed his ethnicity and weird mannerism and coolness, they turned the main character into a random high schooler it was a literaly an American campus flop movie this thing made me so angry 😂

The sad thing is the season ended. The good thing is this is just the beginning of One Piece. The story and emotional journey is just 1% of where it goes. It keeps getting better and better with every arc. If you recall, Grandpa threw a cannon ball towards the ship with his bare hands. So you understand how much raw power he possess. And you can imagine what can happen if he trains Koby and Helmepo. A hint: this is not the entire crew. The creator has made it clear the story will not tend towards romantic tones. The fight between Luffy and Arlong is long (no pun intended) in the anime. And not just Luffy, Sanji and Zoro as well. The idea shown in the anime is that Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji gets stronger with each fight and with emotions like protecting his friends or fighting for his friends. This is somewhat shown here as you see earlier Luffy, Sanji were having a hard time in Round 1. But later Luffy manages to break the sword with hi bare hands and also damage/defeat Arlong. You should watch the anime if you want to really get what One Piece story is all about. You can say the live action is like the movie trailer while the anime is the actual movie. But fair warning, there can be times when it gets slow or filler in the anime. Like others are suggesting, it would be best only to watch until this arc which is episodes 1 to 44 in the anime so you don't find it intimidating or get spoiled if there is going to be Season 2. Even an episode a week and you'll get there with ease.

A considerable problem for the Arlong battle is that in the original material much of Arlong's fighting moves are hard to replicate in live action: biting Luffy, having his teeth punched out and regrowing (which we saw) while those would be an actual threat which just doesn't work in live action. Luffy also ended up drowned for a while in the original battle, but hey, that's an aspect of devil fruit physiology they already covered with Buggy, most likely so they could skip it here. The only thing I think that could really have been improved (other than slightly more believable CGI on the building destruction aspects) would be a couple of exchanges where Luffy actually dodges Kiribachi (Arlong's distinctive tooth-shaped sword) prior to destroying it himself. It would have made the fight feel a bit more lively to me.

Them declaring their dreams juxtaposed with their younger selves was so lovely. Plus that beautiful score. Loved the reactions! If you guys do want to watch the anime and really get in depth with One Piece and answer some of the questions you may have had during the live action you can just watch up to the end of Arlong Park which is about 45 episodes.

Regarding the ending discussion, I think two factors were major reasons of the shows success. First is that they actually listened to the creator of the show unlike the previous adaptations and second is the fact that in an interview the director said that he learned from the mistakes of the people before him which led to the first reason. Now hopefully other directors follow matt in regards to future adaptations as well. Edit: oda also shut down all their requests to add romance in the crew which is good since it stays faithful to the story. As they mentioned all crew chemistry was unintended, but I think that's what make this cast great, their chemistry with each other. Hopefully this statement stops twitter from shipping or asking netflix to make luffy LGBTQ shich is not part of odas story.

@@Utracia1 I think romance can be added if it's added in the source material, if it's not in the source material then do not add it. Some people wanted a nami and zoro romance because of emily and mackenyu's chemistry, some people even want luffy to be lgbtq. Oda said no, and I agree, stick with the source material, only change things that make sense for the live action that do not change the whole vibe of the story. We already know what will happen when production teams listen to people who aren't even fans of the work. If you mean what Oda said in regards to the story of the manga then I do believe he'll add romance as a foot note in the ending, but he'll keep everything no romance as he promised as it is not integral to the story.

Nami maybe younger, but she is the big sister (almost the mom) of the crew... In the manga Kaya never kissed Usopp... But it feels right in the live action... I don't mind a little romance outside of the crew ^^ Another thing... Sanji during the Coco village party wasn't just cooking... ;)

The script for season 2 is already written and it's ready. But they still need to film, season 2 is most likely gonna air after 12 to 18 months. Once the strikes ends, they will start filming My prediction on when we can expect season 2 is on year 2025. I want season 2 to be better and improve.

I think what really made this an amazing adaption is that Eiichiro Oda was there working with them and telling them yes and no. He personally approved the actors who played all the main characters. The writers say that season 2 is written and we should hopefully see it 12-18 months after the strike ends, so fingers crossed. I am so happy you two enjoyed this journey with us fans. There's a very deep satisfaction whenever I see people bawl out into tears watching one piece.... That's what one piece does to all of us... And now y'all part of the crew!!! But all said you just dipping into the magnum opus that is one piece... And this is just the beginning... The scale, the landscapes, the world, the emotions, the heart, the bond, the intensity, the plot, the connections, the overarching narrative, mysteries, foreshadowings, callbacks, payoffs... Everything will be exponentially ramped up in the future. Hopefully if it gets 6 seasons, I'm waiting for that arc which is at end game level or even more if done right! Anyway, there's a long way to go to get there, and there are really solid storylines and settings that I'm really looking forward to.. (not revealing anything)... Water 7 Saga (drama), Jaya saga (visuals).., Brook and The ones coming in season 2 - Alabasta Saga... It's gonna break the internet, if done right. Especially Drum and Little Garden will be a treat for the eyes. And I'm waiting for fan favourite characters Laboon, Kureha, Chopper, Vivi and Karoo. Btw... Just a heads up. The strawhats are like a family, almost siblings. So, just have that perspective going into it in the future.

It is both fortunate and unfortunate that they ended it here. Fortunate because it is a good enough stopping point. Unfortunate because they had initially planned to visit one more location. I won't spoil the plot, but let's just say the season could potentially have gone full circle, since the last stop in the East Blue is Loguetown: the place where Gold Roger got executed. I feel bad for the showrunners they couldn't make it happen, because they had to already make the set for the opening of the show and had they been able to combine shooting that one more episode, they probably would have been able to reduce the per-episode price tag a little bit.

@@anshmittal3098 issue is rushing without considering the impact. Coco villagers knew about Nami's sacrifice but never let her know till end. That was a huge plot point. They deleted it without understanding the story. It is not even about budget, it is about sense of the story. If Oda wasn't so involved, it would be another trash like usual They already tried hard by race seapping at random places and toning down anything that goes against their usual agendas. I can guarantee they would delete the scenes of "Kuina admitting she will lose to a guy" or "Nami asking help to Luffy, a guy" for sure if they had full control Just wait and see if Alvida's Devil Fruit powers are retained in future or not. That itself will tell u how much they are faithful and how much they are still worrying about pushing their agendas. Just be happy this wasn't made by Disney 🤣🤣🤣

There is also a plothole in Usopp story where Luffy woke up from food coma and suddenly said he needs to save all yet he had no idea since he was knocked out before anything started. The casting director mentioned that there were a whole lot of people auditioning who said "You have no idea what this means to me". That's the kind of fanbase One Piece has, it is life altering, it'll change your principles and make you an emotional person. This also shows how the fanboys pour their hearts out to create this beautiful live action! No wonder One Piece is an even bigger franchise than Harry Potter and Lord of The Rings😊

Loved your reactions. I started with the Netflix show and after ep 8 I went with the anime. If you want to see what our strawhats are doing next you COULD start at ep 44 of the anime which talks about the aftermath of Arlong Park. The Netflix show is not beat per beat the same as the anime and manga BUT the core concepts of the story arcs are the same. I love how Netflix stayed true with what One Piece is. The guy with 2 cigars at the end is called Smoker and that hypes up the manga and anime fans for S2.

Hopefully, after all, Haki wasn't really introduced properly up until the Marineford arc; it was just a mysterious power at that time, but I hope they change it up after all; we are to be introduced with two Logia users (3 if they add Skypiea, which isn't going to happen considering the length of the Alabasta arc) if they ever go with it in season 2. Well, we also get Drum Island and a story with Laboon; I wonder how that will fit along with Louge town.
