I love Zoro but I love Sanji too. Let's be real though,since the start of One Piece, Zoro has always been given more epic and memorable highlights than Sanji. Oda just made it seem sometimes like there's a close competition between them to serve fans from both sides, but clearly, Oda has shown how stronger and more charismatic Zoro is. Oda might not be so straightforward about it but a lot of times he clearly has implied that Zoro's like next to Luffy in terms of reliability, strength and popularity.

If everyone is honest Sanji's fight was much more thematically satisfying. Queen wasn't just a Zoan user with multiple weapons and forms, but also used Sanji's past as a psychological tool. It was him facing his family and their scientific past all in a villian that was just part of MADs. King isn't even a swordsmen and just have racial flame powers. Seems lame if you look at it that way.

Lol. This is what happens when you watch the show for your own agenda and put all your analysis skills for your own favourite character. Just like how Zoro was loyal to Luffy and trying to make him the Pirate King, King was also dead loyal to Kaido and trying to make him the pirate King. Remember the time when King said to Zoro, "You're biologically incapable of defeating me"? Zoro replied that he hated those kinds of excuse the most. Do you not see the reference in here? Kuina also told Zoro that she couldn’t become the strongest swordsman cause she was a girl, because of biological reasons and that too made Zoro angry at that time. After all these years, Zoro finally proved Kuina wrong by defeating King that you don't need to be born strong to accomplish your goals. Zoro and King had a legendary final clash where Zoro came out on top. On the other hand, the final beef Between Queen and Sanji was pathetic as hell. Queen literally put his attention to his crush and completely forgot about Sanji. Sanji took the chance and comboed an off-guard Queen. Come out of your agenda and focus on the story.

@@Dracule18 again not someone who cares about swordsmanship and the overall thing was that he had a racial ability. Even his Zoan fruit didn't have a hybrid form. Queen didn't even really use haki at all, which I see a lot of people overlooking the fact that many haki users are being beaten by those who can't in the ark and vice versa. Nami, Franky, and Robin do not use haki and won yet the entire fandom is comparing haki vs non haki constantly. I Think Oda rushed the ark and added way too many insignificant characters and didn't kill enough of them as per usual. It's a death battle but half the cast who is bleeding out lives and patches their way through it. He also triples down on multiple time trial threats, which is a theme I've hated since its overuse after time skip, where we have a falling island, a fire, and bombs. We get it you think you need pressure applied to feel like something might go wrong and make the whole ark dramatic, but I don't think adding more makes the ark more dramatic. Someone needs to throw Oda a couple of American film clips on Drama and tension from the Tarantino films. It works if its written well, but this ark ain't it and again you are pulling a lot from within a short period of 10 chapters to make up a rationale for the themes Zoro has to face. Zero build up and makeshift villain feels like the most important part was the racial lunarian thing instead of what they were actually fighting for or why. As you said, "You're biologically incapable of defeating me"? perfectly sums it up as a shitty antagonist. If we compare a rewrite of the things we are complaining about you are saying, "I don't like the three or four pages leading up to Sanji's win" and I'm saying, "I don't like the themes of why King and Zoro are clashing". One is a small mistake the other is a total rewrite.

You keep bragging about racial ability as if that makes Zoro and King's fight meaningless. Why the heck does King have to be a traditional swordsman and have the exact same fighting style as Zoro to begine with? It's not like Queen's fighting style was anything like Sanji's. Especially when you realize it was a fight between hulk and flash lmao. King and Zoro had a remarkable final clash while the climax of Sanji vs Queen was Stupid. Kuina said that she couldn’t become the WSS because of biological reasons and King said the exact same thing, that Zoro wouldn’t be able to beat him because of biological reasons. When Kuina said that, Zoro's hatred towards the thought of "you need to be born strong to accomplish your goal" began and that's why he said "I hate this kind of excuse the most" in response to King saying "you're biologically incapable of defeating me". After all those years, Zoro proved Kuina wrong by defeating King. Zoro proved that you don't need to be strong biologically in order accomplish your goal. As long as you work hard enough, you'll get there. What they were fighting for? They were fighting to make their respective captains The Pirate King, they were fighting to prove their own respective thought that opposed each other. King and Zoro both had their flashback of their captains recruiting them. Queen had no backstory and Sanji's flashback didn’t particularly focus on Luffy but the entire crew, unlike Zoro's.

Can you admit one is written into the story before the ark starts and the other is not. That if there was anything thematic about Zoro vs king it should have been more about what zoro cares about or something to do with his dream IE being another swordsmen taken out by him. Instead it totally writes against anything meaningful for that character. That is why I think it has little meaning. "meh, I find final clashes dramatic. King and Zoro both had their flashback of their captains recruiting them." Generic trash excuse that can be applied to the entire crew. You can say Usopp is fighting for the pirate king or Chopper due to being on the crew. If you are saying King believes Kiado will be Pirate king vs the other animal kingdom pirates I couldn't say one way or the other due to a lack of backstory and motivation not being written in. You could say the average lacky for Kaido's group didn't believe he was defeated even after he was is them fighting for him. That doesn't make it compelling or worthwhile of the themes.

Gotta give them credit though, pretty sure both were 19 when they started their journey with luffy. 2 years later at 21 they’re still just kids who have so much potential for growth. Marco is like 41 years old by now, it’s pretty crazy when you think about how fast the younger generation is getting stronger. Plus they both got power-ups from their respective fights.
