I didn’t mention this during stream, though I do agree that the Hooded “Shanks” probably isn’t the real Shanks. My hypothesis is that he’s the leader of the Holy Knights, and possibly even the true son of Figarland Garling. Since I truly doubt, that the Shanks we know and love; is the Son of Garling

Im leaning heavy towards this! I've also seen some conversation about this around the internet. I truly don't believe our shanks is a bad guy!

@ IMO our Shanks acts as a peacekeeper and wouldn’t want to side with anyone. His time with Rodger definitely taught him that taking sides to achieve peace is a flawed system. I don’t really see Shanks being a Holy knight or even siding with the Celestial Dragons at all. Shanks is a pacifist, at least through his actions; so I doubt he’d bend the knee to be a dog to the Celestial dragons. Shanks isn’t like Akainu, he won’t settle to work for anyone but himself and his own crew
