Hi, I think Doflamingo should be from Spain: his first name is donquixote that is based on Donquijote de la Mancha from Cervantes and the flamingo is because of the typical spanish dance 'flamenco'. Also all the arc of Dressrosa is based on Spain (sevillanas of Lola, spanish guitars at the beginig and the palace is based on the Alhambra de Granada) and the climate is the same as andalucia. I know all these things because I'm from spain so i can easily see all the references Eiichirō Oda inspired on to write it. Hope this coment has helped you, good video!

As a Spaniard, I think saying doffy is German is really accurate. He really reflects the stereotype of a "guiri" in Spain (white people from other countries, usually UK or Germany) and its kind of a joke here saying they invade some of our villages close to the beach as there are a lot of them living there. So it also fits the fact that he invaded another country, being his home town Mary geoise and dressrosa the place with a better weather he lives in.

Those countries are not where they from. I believe the country list is from ONE PIECE book. Oda who is author of ONE PIECE introduced which country fits to each character on the books. So Yamato’s country could be different from Kaido. For example, Oda thinks Brazilian people are friendly and outgoing, so Oda thinks Ruffy and his grand father fits Brazil. It does not matter name or blood line at all.
