The cast and the team got so much Kudos, but this music team is the unsung hero on the twitter/insta..their tweets doesnt get much traction as well. The music is great here, elevating the exp.

I love how you can see the passion and love for music AND for One Piece. I love how they kind of geek out about their love for the manga

Sonya and Giona are freaking GENIUSES. Ever since they worked on the first season of The Witcher I’ve been obsessed with their OSTs. Finding out they made One Piece’s was like a punch of bliss, they are EXCELLENT. Absolute maniacs in the best way possible! Their understanding and layering of the music is masterful, and the fact that they use different instruments to represent characters based on their personalities??? GOD

This is an absurdly interesting interview. Way more in this than I ever thought. These people understand music and one piece so perfectly.

You guys did such an amazing job on s1 of Witcher that I was surprised you didn’t return for s2. And then you guys get this job, and hit it out of the park again. I really hope you return for ALL of the One Piece seasons because we all know you deserve it!
@quietprofessional Жыл бұрын
I second that. I can only guess two reasons why Belusova and Ostinelli didn't return for The Witcher Season 2: 1. Scheduling conflicts with other projects. 2. Given Lauren Schmidt Hissrich's plan to deviate from Andrzej Sapkowski's works on Season 2 onwards, they were either not invited back or they refused to participate due to creative differences. I really want them back to do the music for Season 2 and use some musical cues from the anime as a nod to longtime fans.
@cocomildway42698 ай бұрын
Them not returning for S2 seemed bonkers to me. Unless it was due to scheduling issues, I do not understand how you could let go of a duo like this. The OST for S2 of The Witcher was so underwhelming to me after Sonya and Giona. Everything made sense after I knew they hadn’t been hired again, lol.

Damn ! It's easy to take a score for granted, but this just really opened my eyes on just how the musical side of the series was just as epic and full of thought and effort as the visual one ! Thank you guys so much for your passion, dedication and creativity ! Even for the profane ears that I've got, I could tell the score was amazing at first viewing ! And now I want to rewatch the series but pay special attention to all the details in the score that you mentioned. So cool that the showrunners and directors actually got so much into each characters themes that they could actually point notes about when to adequately put someon's theme, either when onscreen, or when they're about to appear.

As great as the cast of OPLA is, I wish I saw more people giving this team the recognition they deserve. To me, what Sonya and Giona accomplished with the score for One Piece is a Star Wars-level musical achievement. The level of care, consideration, and craft that went into the score for OPLA is staggering. Sonya and Giona really love their jobs, and really love One Piece, and it shows. It’s to the degree that it’s hard for me to think of this story and these characters without thinking of these themes - it’s hard to even believe they existed for 25+ years without them. This isn’t just a great soundtrack - it’s one of the greatest musical scores ever produced for TV, if not THE greatest.

I've been a fan of Belousova & Ostinelli since I stumbled onto the Sacred Lies soundtrack looking for D&D music. The day I found out they were doing One Piece AND working on a collab with Serj Tankian and Tarja was the most excited I've ever been about music news. The soundtrack did not disappoint. Absolutely love My Sails are Set + Mihawk/Marcin styling all over Zoro's theme 😂 I'd love to see some in-depth breakdowns on Player Piano after you've had a vacation, but thank you both for the excellent music!

The music and sound team carried a lot of this one. Those chunky, rubbery gum gum power sounds effects, for example, helped bump up the believability of the stretching from ehhh to passable (I know how insanely hard it is to do those visual effects, so this isn’t a backhand against those people-viva la visual effect unionization!).

The show should’ve included more iconic tracks from the anime. Overtaken, Evacuation, and Zoros og theme
@MRBp2024 Жыл бұрын
They did actually make the Overtaken remake, you can hear it during the early development behind the scenes when they were making the music. Overtaken being one of them. Alot of the original audio & songs are outdated which is fine to use in anime but for a live action it needs to be new, clear studip audio recordings. However it was never used in the show or likely not released. They only release the music from thats used in the show. There are probably alot of songs not released that was made. Maybe they would in season 2. Remember they made the One piece music before they see the scenes. Im pretty sure they said it was made for 4 hours of music is crazy. She showed all the music folders used for the show and it was atleast 20+ seperate folders. They did have Bink's Sake, they did have We Are but it was short snippet. The Live action having alot of its own original music makes sense. The anime had its own freedom to create its own soundtracks & legacy when adapting the manga to anime.
@samwell54 Жыл бұрын
@@MRBp2024 all I’m saying is it would feel more like one piece if it had one piece music. Even if they just used those tracks as samples and made updated versions. Plenty of people have made dope edits of those songs that don’t sound outdated.
@timmlyy Жыл бұрын
They can’t add all of them, they’re not some amateur anime music producer wannabe
@samwell54 Жыл бұрын
@@timmlyy my preference would be that they added a lot of them because of how hype it would be. I think they sound better than the music they used. No disrespect to their work it sounds awesome and very professionally done, just not my taste.
@assafklein7757 Жыл бұрын
I was anticipating this comment! I can see why they felt the need to create a brand-new soundtrack to set this show apart, as their songs take a distinctive approach to the narrative - they truly did a remarkable job. I see the value of being inventive, innovative, and bringing something fresh to the table. But because the tracks are so closely tied to the character of the anime or the situations that are in the anime,I think the existing songs are quite important. My reaction to Bringing Bink's Sake was emotional, and the orchestral version of the song "We Are" that closed the live action climax was wonderful and powerful. I can see how they could take each of the anime's straw hat soundtrack transitions and turn them into something different. . I can see how they could take the straw hat music from the anime's transitions and make something fresh with it or how powerful it would be to include additional well-known songs like the very strongest or overtaken. I couldn't agree more with what you said previously about other fans that did an amazing job! Samuel Kim might be a great example of that. With the two songs I've highlighted, he did an amazing job of creating something special and taking them both to a new level. I genuinely think Sonya and her team might succeed as well.
