Kokoro married a human man, and they had a son, who also married another human woman, and that's where Chimney comes from. She's not a mermaid like her grandma, but she's still 1/4 mermaid, which makes her an amazing swimmer by nature. That's actually how she managed to save Luffy twice from the strong whirlpools of Enies Lobby, even though she's still a kid, and had to carry someone else out of the water.

It's a motif for their family as Ace did it in Alabasta when everyone Thought he was dead then Luffy slingshots Smoker into Ace thru the neighborhood. He did it another time when he was on Buffy D. Clown's ship. Buggy was like, "oh shit, he's a Whitebeard pirate, don't fuck with him guys"

No guys, it’s not the unlucky sword that got broke(kitestsu the third), it was the Yubashiri, the sword that the shopkeeper gave to Zoro; the shopkeeper even said that he valued that sword, so giving it to Zoro meant passing his dream to him.
