"Fan Letter" really does get across just how terrifying the world of One Piece actually is to ordinary people, whether you're a low-level Marine at Marineford, a random person caught in the middle of a fight between pirates and Pacifistas, or just living your life when suddenly some weirdo with a slingshot unleashes a swarm of giant bugs. To quote Tekking from his reviewed: "People are saying 'This girl saved the Straw Hats from the Marines'. No, she saved the _Marines_ from the Straw Hats." If the Marines' plan had succeeded, the Straw Hats would have _rampaged._

"OP Fan Letter" is the literal definition of "understood the assignment". The world is huge and terrifying, but sometimes it only takes your ONE PIECE of small, sincere contribution towards what's right to complete the entire puzzle. Absolutely beautiful episode.

We say farewell to Yao, Frankys voice actor......who is retiring......he has worked for nearly 2 decades and man we will miss his voice once the new episodes come next year! Great special episode, i wished there was a spinoff show about the average civilian who has no dreams of sailing or exploring the world but loving thier normal day to day lives in a world filled with sea monsters insane powers of pirates and the Marines!

I loved this so much! I think my favorite was the older Marine brother. I loved that his love of Luffy was so personal. I loved the girl too. I loved that we never got a clear shot of the Straw Hats, except for that one fan of Brook’s but she’s a fan of Brook the singer, not Brook the pirate and she wouldn’t connect to who Chopper is. I need a fan letter for literally every location in the series. This was amazing!

im glad you liked fan letter! (though to be fair, id have been VERY shocked if you didnt, its incredible) for me, its feels extra special, somehow. especially the story about the two marine brothers. fan letter came out not long after MY brother died very unexpectedly, very young and suddenly this fall. i also had a kinda difficult relationship with him. i would definitely say "i dont like my brother" ALL the time, just like the older marine brother did. but he was lucky. he still has his brother and got to realize that actually, he's very glad his brother is still alive and is now willing to let a lot of the annoying things slide. because its better than not having him around at all. and sometimes i think about how i also wish me and my family would have gotten to be lucky...but we didnt. anyway thats why watching that (i didnt know anything about the characters or story of fan letter beforehand) really kind of....shocked me to my core a bit. it definitely has a special place in my heart.

This was an interesting project to animate for the anime’s 25th anniversary & one of the best episodes of 2024🧩 which is based on the One Piece novel Straw Hat Stories written by Tomohito Ohsaki where it focuses on a person in the world as they learn about 1 of the Straw Hats, but this takes a few of them (Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Chopper, & Franky) & merge them together taking place at the Return to Sabaody - Nami was with the little girl who is fan of cool female pirates(in the novel it was a young man), & she is voiced by Kokoro Kikuchi who is the voice for Toko & Leina while the old lady with her at the start is Luffy’s va - Luffy was with the 2 brother Marines with the older brother being voiced by Yasuyuki Kase the voice of Big News Morgans while younger is voiced by Hiroki Takahashi Queen & Bill, but there is a bit of a change with them now stationed in Sabaody - Zoro was the drunk men in the bar talking about who is the strongest swordsman (power scaling), but this took place in Dressrosa & the 3 are voiced by Yasuhiro Takato (voices Bepo, Zepo, Buffalo, Butchie, Mr.9, Peterman, Satori, Hotori & Kotori), Ryouta Takeuchi (voices Bavarois), & Takuya Kirimoto (voices Cracker) - Chopper was with the Marine who can’t help find Chopper cute (voiced by Jiro Saito who also voices Orlumbus, Snack, & Rampo) & known as the Benevolent King of the Waves, but they changes this with instead of being a simple warship to a toxic substance to destroy ship’s coating & that instead of the little girl delaying them it was the Kuja Pirates - Franky was the woman in the bookstore (voiced by Yuka Komatsu who also voices Sally Isntoinette & Momousagi / Gion), but in the novel she is place in Water 7 where she hears word about Franky from many citizens like the 2 boys we see in this replaces Michael & Hoichael - As for the Rich Kid Marine he is voiced by Tetsu Inada who also voicesDax Bonez / Mr. 1, Brogy, Bomba, Dr. Potsun, Gorilla, Isshi 20, Jesus Burgess, Lake, Lapahn, Million, Patty, Purin Purin, Richie, Abi's Father, Ripper, Tilestone, & many more - Now they could have done Brooks but they did not focus on a boy who went to Brook’s last concert to secretly record with a Tone Dial while the others might have been a little bit harder - Now you may have notice a few of the Straw Hats popping up in this episode but there is a hidden Luffy at the very start where you can see him in the reflection of Mihawk’s sword - Also I was taken surprised with that the anime reveals Icebergs new secretary Alice’s name because it was only recently revealed

I hope future wars seem more serious in One Piece. As we see in this episode the Paramount War was bloody, it was terrifying, it was a bunch of little people surrounded by gods but from a viewers perspective it's never that serious. In Marineford we saw soldiers and pirates get flung by Whitebeard etc but it was always comical and more soldiers just replaced them so there was no sense of loss of life. Same happened in Wano. Thousands were supposedly killed but it didn't matter because we barely saw it.

The pacing for the fishman island arc is bad, but the new remake is even worse, its not that it goes fast, it's that it goes way too fast. They litterally SPEED through every scene like they're on the rocketman without brakes. They skip parts, characters sometimes warp to other ends of the room cuz its faster than showing them walk. It's a terrible remake, i dont recommend it to anyone
