One Piece Garage Door Replaced by Sectional Door.

This video gives you a look at how a one piece garage door is removed and a sectional garage door is installed in it's place. The old door had jam pivot or E900 hardware. The new door is an Amarr, Entrematic brand, model, Stratford 3000 with a Liftmaster 8355 belt drive opener. This is NOT an in instructional, how to install video, but rather a demonstration of the process and what is involved. if you are going to do this, be sure to get further instructions and consult with a professional.

Tilt door is better, because it provides an extra roof to work outside the workshop when we need more light or more room (e.g. for welding job).

I loved your "high tech" counterweight on the old door -- what was that, a bag of water jugs? I know you say this is not an instructional video, but it would have been nice if we could see what you were doing when you removed the old door -- which screws did you remove to drop it onto the truck? Did you remove the springs first? Huge parts of the installation of the new door were not shown -- maybe you could have hired your wife to be the camera man.

Yes, the customer said, he had those weights on there for over 10 years. I may do a more detailed video, but I do not want people to try this and get injured. There are a few different types of one piece door hardware. This one was called jam pivot, or E900 model. The springs do come off first. The door will come crashing down when you remove the springs, so you need to have the truck there to support the door. Then you take the bolts holding the bracket to jam off, and then the door really starts to fall down. The new door takes a few hours to do. Let me know if you need more instructions. G S Overhead Systems Safety Warning! Never try to remove one piece door springs with the door closed. The springs are fully loaded and will cause severe injury. When the door is open there is less tension on the springs.
