Luffy vs Katakuri is a contest of will, not strength. Katakuri keeps trying to make luffy give up and not to kill him, but luffy refuses to budge despite being clearly weaker than his enemy. Before this fight, Katakuri was a timid character who preferred not to change for the sake of change and just tolerated Big Mom's craziness by protecting his siblings secretly. After this, he learnt from Luffy not to be passive in life and be not afraid of taking risks. This Luffy's never giving up attitude has the same vibe as Naruto's "give up on making me give up" attitude in his fight against Pain. This fight also reminds me of Isaac Netero's fight against the Ant King in Hunter X Hunter. Netero did not give up despite facing a much stronger opponent.
