Also, while devil fruits CAN give strength to the user, especially certain kinds, most don't. People in this universe can train to be unreasonably strong. In this adaptation, I think Luffy will gain his early strength over time. In the manga/anime he was already strong enough to topple large buildings with ease.

Oda doesn't have that type of romance within the main cast. Luffy is also ace, canonically, and Nami is speculated to be a lesbian which would surprise no one if confirmed because both would be far from the only queer people in this series.

I have never watched a Anime what so ever and i watched this and loved it but i still aint watched a animated Anime yet. I enjoyed Avatar Last Airbender but imo not as goid as this show.
