The type of real that makes your stomach churn. At the start, the Paramount war felt like this grand event, the Mariners vs Shirohige and his allies, a clash that could and would destroy and remake the world. We thought that there was no way Ace would die, that Luffy would drop in, save him and things would get better... how wrong we are. In that hellhole even the lowest of soldiers was a officer or pirate with some reputation, someone that had dealt with their own hardships... but there, in Marine Ford, packed with warriors, monster and legends, surrounded by fire and gunfire... we may think things got bad when Ace died, but the truth is that for the average mariner and pirate... the moment that war started they were fucked. There was no heroism in that conflict, the clash of wills was only for the monster, all the rest were just trying to survive.

This perfectly encapsulates WHY Koby was crying at the end of the war. The duality of Marines and Pirates are over shadowed my the love and memories the respective groups share for one another. Not just Ace died at Marineford and this opening viscerally (for One Piece) depicts that beautifully. Aside from the phenomenal Shot Composition, Animation, and use of Persepctives. I find it poinent that while everyone is using guns and swords KILLING the Marines and vice versa, Luffy is throwing haymakers K.O'ing people. @@CameronkAK you used to call yonko commanders fodder? manga fandoms are insane
@CameronkAK3 ай бұрын
@@gamongames Considering a single top tier can mostly wipe an entire yonko crew, if the captains not present, its not far fetched to see most yonko commanders as inconsequential, with the exception of the top 3. Now that I've watched the episode I'm realising that, while the top tiers fight each other, the commanders are still fighting in a different wolrd to the foot soldiers.

We need this for the 4th great ninja war! One of the most saddest thing about the war i always thought about were the regular citizens. I feel so bad for the random people who were caught in bijuu blast or their little village was destroyed by the after explosion.

When you combine anime + film techniques you get cinema. I’m really proud on how far One Piece has come. I’m truly grateful to live and love the anime as a whole.
