The world itself isnt as bonkers as the main characters

Really feels like those who complain about this don’t realize how minuscule a number that is especially when you account for regular civilians.

It's like how people complain that there are too many haki and Devil Fruit users in the New World when they're both supposed to be rare, but the reality is that of course we see a lot more of it there, it's where the strongest people on the planet are currently gathering, whereas the rest of the world has far fewer interactions with such things. It's also funny to remember that the Straw Hats originally sailed out of the weakest sea, they just happened upon the big fish that were disturbing the waters of the little pond they found themselves in. I really hope they do more of these in the near future to kind of build more of the world and space things out, maybe even use them as an excuse to introduce the anime only audience to the title page plot lines that never made it into the anime 🤔

i saw a lot of people complaining about remaking the scene with luffy crushing the pacifista and making it "worse" completely disregarding how the scene was reimagined from the point of view of an on-site observer, which in my opinion adds a lot to the themes approached by the special episode i wonder they must have thought it was bad because it didn't include luffy's face or the scene of him dodging the lightning, but that was the point of this new perspective, to bring a breath of fresh air... and even then i must disagree, because the fluidity and camera angles, as in the entire episode, are movie level production

@ not because something doesn’t conflict with the show mean it’s cannon, it has to be confirmed by the main author to be allowed to be cannon. By this train of thought, what if someone invented a storyline of an ongoing story that doesn’t YET conflict with the story but later down the line it does? It’s like the Warship Island filler where the mugiwaras sees a dragon, and in the future in Punk Hazard they see a dragon and they say ”It’s my first time seeing one”.

This special was so fire 10/10. Think even people who don't watch One Piece would enjoy. Seeing from perspectives of no-name background characters was so good and well-done with the special. It truly furthered my belief that the marines will split in the future either supporting Luffy or support Imu. Smoker, Koby, Fujitora, elder brother marine, et cetera all are more so on Luffy's side, just need a push. Many nations are also allied with Luffy unofficially with only Wano being official one.

Just a warning, as someone else who did this, there’s a lot of episodes that you can skip because they’re flashbacks, starting at Enies Lobby. The problem with binging a show that’s been going for 25 years weekly is that there are a lot of flashbacks to things you saw at most a few months, and at the earliest a few hours ago.
