Enjoy the ride. You can fast track it a little bit without losing anything if you lookup which episodes are filler. The filler episodes I hate the most are the ones made to tie into an upcoming movie that are inserted in the middle of an arc just to promote a movie. It is usually only two episodes but it’s so frustrating when you’re caught up and just want to watch the next episode of an arc and not a bullshit out of place promo episode designed to get you to watch a movie that won’t even be available in the west for up to a year afterwards.

That seagull along with the final trumpet note is just beautiful. I was hooked on the series the first time I saw it. Something about the journey and adventure is a symbol for the bird, it just fits perfectly, not just into the theme, but the message and overall story of the show itself. Such a cool and chill anime I started maybe 5 years ago, kept watching until episode 204, got bored, then just recently my friend started talking about it and I remembered. Watched an episode, then another, then another, then by the end of the week I had gotten to Thriller Bark. Crazy how many episodes I’ve watched recently. I’ll probably get bored in a few hundred episodes and I’ll come back to it in a few years, but the beauty of it is that I know it will bring me back without fail. Here is something that 90% of u didnt notice, at 2:25 they will show enemies and black beard is at the end of those images, on the old it is Barate (Sanji fight) so after that there was no major fights, so here we will see Luffy black beard fight very sooner than expected !!! Yeah I know what youre talking about Nowadays great animation in anime are mostly lower than the usual 24 frames but has alot of smears (basically the inbetweens of movements) and can look very fluid. Reason why the old one feels "smooth" to you is because the animation had more than 24 frames but had little to no smears

The old one had better animation and timing. A lot of cool background animation, too. The new one cuts too often and tries to squeeze too much in, so that ruins some of its flow. Also, personal opinion, but I prefer the old art style.
