The prices listed on each card include japanese prices which are always lower. Tcg player refuses to segment the cards.

Always get a full set of the cards. So you dont end up paying a premium. Trade all your alt arts to finish 4 of everything. Ask your buddies or at locals to give cards they don't want and trust me you will save a lot of money. I've completed this OP09 because of 2nd anniversary pre release.

As someone who comes from pokemon, it really hurts when to build a deck you have to spend so much money, specially if it is of another colour. I think that there are at least 4 factors that come together to bring prices up, 1) FOMO and trend chasing, like, to play the new hot OP deck 2) bandai underprinting some sets, like EB 01 3) price speculation, compared to EU, in America they really like to speculate and try to drive the prices as high as possible, it's a card game guys, please chill 4) Sec cards. The fact that in the optcg you almost always need to play a full playset of cards to bring consistance up as much as possible, and that Sec are cards that, at most, come 1 out of a full booster box, is going to naturally make them expensive, and if it is added to one of the other points, well, we are going to get cases like rayleigh sec or bon clay. If bandai printed some lower rarities for those cards, or after some time they came with a premium product, that could at least keep the prices somewhat in check for some time I'm pretty sure that if at least one of those could get solved, the game affordability and capacity to gain more players would increase significantly

Yeah i really wish tcg player would make a different tab or area for japanese cards, or make them show up last. Because seeing those cheap prices first is always jarring. And its borderline malicious imo, cause im sure some people have absent mindedly bought or almost bought japanese cards thinking there english.

funny enough my build for BB costed me $30 or so total, good substitutions for Laboon for budget players can be Toy Soldier, Sasaki (2k), mansherry, Borsalino blocker, Jack 7c, and ive seen people cook with hajrudin (sorry i dont remember how to spell his name)

I think another part of things is how many more people collect these cards than people who play!! So higher prices cause collectors to buy high priced cards as investments

I agree with the market staying lower but I also think money drive Bandai to keep printing more and more so the goal should be to have more prints and that’s caused by cards being high value 🤷🏽‍♂️. People had a chance at $15-20 but the issue is op08 was so weak and bad!!! This card is holding that set alive and more folks will buy boxes and that will help lower prices in the long run

Odyssey traff is much better than chopper. Being able to attack with lim bring her back into hand and play her out again is too good not to have and search again. Can also be used to bring up a purple traff and play out a lim in hand. It is a much better card. Chopper is not worth it

That's not how that works. See Pokemon. If cards are cheap, it will bring more players to the store, which is the most important thing of all. If players aren't setting foot in the store in the first place, then that's how the game will die.

Exactly, people will keep buying packs because ludopathy and trying to get the alt arts, just like you said, the last pokemon set have cards that are pretty cheap overall, specially compared to one piece, but the chance of getting that SIR pikachu that's worth 600$ keeps people's interest up in opening more packs, which will keep getting the prices for the base rarity cards lower over time ​@@looplooplooplooploop
