I believe Rayleigh is for Shanks. I think most decks run 2-3 copies at least. Marco does use it but in Shanks its so needed and its a deck that will vie for one of the top spots in the west

at 2:23, Kudos! Noob here, Guilty of purchasing an alt hody j. I like the art. Been buying indv cards for their art or playability. I kinda relate what I remember from MTG like Mill and Lhurgoyf/weenie decks. So, I am of the thinking of a black deck for simplicity, I purchased 4 diff starter decks. I fell down this rabbit hole a few weeks ago. I'm not chasing chase or expensive alt's. re. lack of availability of romance dawn, Bandai should reprint the sets that were limited but leave out chase and alt cards as a compromise.

Ya I definitely think they should reprint as much as possible to help out with the games future, or at least introduce a Block rotation every so many years to help new players to be able to affordably enter the game (which would also open up the possibility of "Legacy" style formats etc).

@@Vvulfrik I agree. Card companies be it Nambia or Hasbro (mtg) create cards for collectability and playability. They have to understand to make sets available to the latecomers who didn't know about the game or delayed to see if the game wouldn't end up like the 2003 disaster. Yeah, they rewarded the collectors from the beginning. I get it.

I think people are sleeping on the OP4 SR Luffy. He is at a good price before the release of OP10 and with the Gum Gum Rino event in OP10 it could be a game changer. For 1 don you can swing with it for 9k and bansih, then restand it to attacks all over again.

So some of the prices you showed for the cards are their original printings and some like the kuzan and borso you showed the prb reprint price. The reprints are even cheaper and theyll be noted by not having the "pen" icon in the top right next to the artist name

I feel that Rayleigh is actually good in ry sabo, the fact that you can tank an opponents power then pop whatever doesn't survive is crazy, then you send him to life, and even when he leaves play, the power deduction stays until the end of your opponents next turn.

You should definitely cover alt arts. I'm new to this game, but at some degree money doesn't bother me. If I genuinely love an alternate art I would love to know it dropped or went up. 😅 Not gonna badger you about not wanting them, but for people like me it would be nice to have them covered.

Control Shanks is a top tier deck and it generally runs 3-4 Rayleighs, its a staple for the deck

I live in the UK and i don't know the situation in the US but i can still easily buy EB-01 which might explain why they are so much cheaper here...

GB Perona deck is very cheap now with prb01 reprints. Only expensive card is sabo.

Sold my AA Katakuri for 60 a few weeks before prb01 release, and that's been looking like the best financial decision I've ever made lol.

The easiest way to answer for the Rayleigh being pretty expensive, I would think, would be because the hype for OPO8 wasn't THAT big, so not a lot of people bought it. Not as many people ripped boxes and cases, so rayleigh is sitting high rn.

Why buy a rare Laboon when you can get 4 in a starter deck?

In this game there are actually many Character cards with the same name from different sets, but they do not have the same Effect. You have to be really careful on which one you want to get when buying as to not get the wrong one. The EB-01 version of Laboon (4c 5k, 1k Counter, Activate Main: Tap -4 Cost for the Turn) is the expensive one and is so expensive because it's only currently available from set EB-01, which was limited in it's print run from my understanding.

I got 2 Newgate cards today in the mail. shiny ewww. I don't have a red deck. I got them because they seemed cheap to me. I'm a noob. I do like your video!!!
