If you read the subtitles after sonic eats the meat, you realize it just gave him the runs, he should not have cooked it, he won't be turning into a monster

Yeah, seeing how the monster cell affects the person right away, it’s safe to assume that Sonic killed whatever that was suppose to be alive to physically transform him. In short, he probably has a placebo effect.

I love this episode because after episodes of back to back fighting, which was quite overwhelming, it finally takes on a more somber tone again, talking about heroism and your mindset and how Saitama is feeling depressed. To me thats what this show is all about. People may think its just dumb spectacular fights, but the philosophy and the turmoil of Saitamas feelings is what keeps me invested. On this note, you should totally watch Mob Psycho! Its by the same author with a similiar concept, except kinda in reverse, where the self improvement and philosophy overshadows the fights. Its very cool and emotional. I think you would love it!

Armored Gorilla is one of my fav side characters just because of how absurd his everything is, from being a background character watching the alien attack on TV last season to this interaction. And Sonic cooking the monster cell and just getting diarrhea is also great, I forgot how season 2 has some pretty darn good stuff LOL

The gorilla was the first monster from "House Of Evolution" that Saitama fought in season 1... The fact is, every monster from the House Of Evolution is INSANELY strong... They just lost because they fought Saitama first before attacking anyone else, and lost badly... Afterwards it's shown that all the remaining members of House Of Evolution started a Restaurant business and the Metal Gorilla was just getting groceries for the restaurant when he got attacked... In the manga its shown just how badly the punch from Metal Gorilla was... He completely obliterated the entire face of the monster... This was supposed to be a funny moment just to show how powerful the season 1 monsters actually were... 😅

There's a detail in the manga that they left out in the anime. Gouketsu actually says that monster cells have to be eaten raw and eaten willingly. If both criteria aren't met, the person eating the monster cell would just suffer from stomach problems without gaining any powers. Thus Sonic cooking the monster cell into fine cuisine just gave him massive diarrhea.
