I understand that the 4k setting takes awhile to kick in on mobile. I've tested myself and it's annoying. However, I won't be changing the way I edit the youtube version of my videos. I do almost always provide an alternate way of viewing in the form of a google drive link to the video in which you can download on your phone/computer.
