Its metal knight, the one that destroying genos village and family was mad cyborg. Metal knight only play with remote controlled robot, not cyborg. So no one knows who is mad cyborg yet, it may be drive knight(since he was also cyborg) or even maybe... its another creation of dr kuseno(genos cyborg convertor/helper) aka genos' "cyborg brother"

Even though he was a villain Saitama empathised with him, because he understands more than anyone what it feels to be the strongest and understands what it feels like to live his life without any thrill and the void of most emotions. He played along so that the villain would have the thrill of a real battle but the antagonist was not stupid and caught on.

It's great that we "normal" human beings can understand what Saitama or Boros feels throught the analogy of using cheats in video games or completing all storyline missions. Once you have everything and you no longer have anything to work towards or anything to look forward to, it all becomes boring. Sure you have all the best weapons and all the best gear, but now you have no challenge left to use them on.

The serious punch just deflected Boros' energy blast. Boros either got hit with the same kind of shockwave we saw in the fight with Genos or Boros depleted all of his energy. Maybe both.

“I feel like he’s letting it happen” Yes, he is. He empathizes with Boros and held back a lot. Notice most of the fight was Saitama just blocking his hits. So he allowed Boros to have his fun until Boros decided to threaten the rest of humanity with his final move. Saitama drew the line there and ended his fun. It was also stated in a handbook that Boros destroyed stars with his final move, so if Saitama wasn’t there to nullify the attack, the effects on earth would’ve been devastating.

The best part, IMHO, was that Saitama didn't actually punch Boros himself to stop that final attack - he punched the attack, dissipating it which prevented the energy from returning to Borors, and that was what burned out Boros.

One of my favorite subtle parts: If you listen, right as Boros unleashes his final attack, there is the same heartbeat sound as from the first episode where Saitama was dreaming and finally happy to have a real fight. Even though Boros eventually finds out the truth, and he WAS strong, Saitama was eventually trying to (and did, for awhile...aka the heartbeat, the smiles Boros can’t help, etc.) give Boros the same feeling Saitama himself knows and has been longing for. Love your reactions, as always! You both always get so excited and into it (and never seem fake) it’s fun to watch. Hope/can’t wait for season 2 😊

Boros had grown too strong to enjoy fighting anymore, just like Saitama, so Saitama held back to let Boros feel like he was getting a challenging fight, when in reality Saitama could have killed him at any point. Saitama only got serious because Boros said his attack would destroy the earth - He was fine getting smacked around to humour a kindred spirit, but he won't let anything happen to innocent people.

I personally think that Saitama cut the fight short partly because Boros was going to unleash some kind of attack that would put innocents in danger.

⭕️Curious Fact that even most Manga readers don’t even know: There was a mistranslation on the Manga: -Manga (English), Boros to Saitama: “I will destroy the surface of the planet” -Manga (Japanese), Boros to Saitama: “I will erase you from the face of the planet” The Data-Book says that Boros’ final attack: “Collapsing Star Roaring Cannon” is actually capable of destroying stars, and Saitama not only neutralised that attack, but he surpassed it by a lot with no effort at all. Yes, it was a “Serious Punch”, but he wasn’t even trying, we just wanted Boros to get excited and feel like he was actually doing something, Saitama just kept taking and dodging all the attacks for Boros to have fun, if Saitama wanted it... he could’ve killed Boros in just 1 punch.

When Boros launches his final attack you can hear a heartbeat like the one saitama had while dreaming in he first episode. So at least Boros was able to enjoy the thrill of the fight again. But saitama still didnt because he is too strong, as said by boros before his death. Saitama basically let Boros had his fight because understands his feelings

As always Saitama's facial expression are a good indicator of how he feels. We've seen him exhilarated in his dream sequence, and we know what he looks like when he gets serious. He rarely changed his expression throughout this entire fight.

If you are going to continue with One Punch Man, the 1st season special (Road to Hero) and the 6 OVAs (6x10 minute episodes) are superior in overall quality to the 2nd season and really worth the watch. I would strongly suggest you watch those first (as they take place around the 1st season of OPM). The thing with OPM's 1st season, is that many stars aligned to get some amazing talent together; people that really wanted to work together and do something really special, and went the extra mile while doing so. The 2nd season, didn't have such luck. They also changed studios, but even they didn't, it would had been pretty much impossible to put back together the talent of 1st season... So while it still follows the original story of ONE (the original creator), and the quality is not bad per-se, it pales in comparison with the masterpiece that was the 1st season, to become "just another anime".

Fun Fact: Boros was a character from a manga that the creator of OPM, "ONE" made 20 years prior to this. Boros was so strong of a villain in that series that he had to drop the series due to having no way to kill him. That is until Saitama came along. It even mentions that Boros had been traveling the stars for 20 years for a worthy opponent. So nice send off for a 20 year old villain.

Saitama just chose to let it continue for as long as it did. He was never affected by anything Boros did. Even when he gets kicked to the moon, he's still just bored. Also, it's worth noting that Saitama never actually hits Boros with the serious punch. His serious punch completely negates boros's planet busting attack and its residual momentum continues forward to wipe out boros

TL/DR Saitama and Boros were given the same choices but took different paths, Hero vs Villain. Saitama and Boros have parallel character arcs in season 1. Both of them want the rush of a close fight. They are bored and feel empty. The ways they go about trying to fill that hole, and what they are willing to give up is what makes one a Hero and the other a Villain. It is also a reason I think One Punch Man is so good, Saitama is sort of a cross between Goku and Superman. Boros tries to fill that by attacking planets looking for strong people to fight. The fact he doesn't care about others makes him a villain. Saitama tries to fill the hole with looking for strong opponents to fight, but only goes after those who are harming or threatening to harm others, the "monsters." He does cause a lot(understatement) of collateral damage but he protects people, making him a hero. Saitama then tries to fill the hole by being popular, BUT is willing to give that up, the thing he wants, so the other heroes get the respect they deserve (Deep Sea King Arc). Saitama's life after he got strong has not been at risk, but he gave up his hair (more of a joke), and more importantly gave up the fame he wanted for the sake of others. He is similar to Goku in that he likes fighting, but he will give up on wanting a good fight or fame for the sake of others. In that way he is unlike Goku, who will not give up trying to have a good fight. Being willing to give up what he wants is more in line with Superman's selflessness, in most depictions at least. Obviously Goku will protect others, but he consistently causes collateral damage and and allows harm to others in his search of a good fight. There are just dragon balls, time traveling Whis, plot armor and other factors that mitigate the damage. I think One(author)'s exploration of what makes a hero is fascinating. In most shonen and comics Genos would be the main character, but he is not, Saitama is.

"It took them so long to take out one" To be fair that "one" was a composit being made up of multiple parts that each needed to be destroyed. So in a way it took them this long to take out four (or was it five?). Never seen anyone watch Boros vs. Saitama without a big grin on their faces. :D On a sidenote: In the manga the mangaka did remember the crater and drew it when it was seen. ^^ By the way, Amai Mask's (= Sweet Mask) boasts weren't empty. He does have the strength of an S-Class and was offered the promotion, but decided not to take it for the reasons he stated. While it hasn't been revealed how far up in S-Class he would be, it's pretty save to assume that he'd at least overtake Puri Puri Prisoner in short order (who's back to being last within S-Class now that Genos has overtaken him).

This last battle this season is a great irony. There were two things in dispute, what they both wanted and they both themselves. They both wanted to face an opponent who would thrill them once again, even if they die from it. Saitama beat Boros by a lot, but Boros got what he wanted and Saitama didn't. That shot of the winner walking away from the loser on the ground is very good because even though Saitama won, the scene looks sad and lonely.

Idk if I'm crazy and this probably won't get too many views but...for me, the saddest part of the series so far is: "You're just...too strong"... Saitama had been striving to be challenged and feel alive again that while season, but when he hears boros say this and walk away, to me, in when he becomes a true superhero.Sure, he still hopes to be challenged again one day, but until then, he's made his sacrifice for the people of the earth.

MetalKnight is that same S Class hero big robot with guns that showed up during meteor falling on Z city episode simply just to test his drone firepower and left after getting the result. Unlike Genos and the other guy who that warned him who is a Cyborgs, MetalKnight is just a remote drone controlled by a guy named Bofoi, the real MetalKnight. You’ll see him again in 2nd season.

You'll notice that Saitama only made a grand total of five attacks. The first was a half-arsed smack against a fully armored Boros, which shattered the armor. That was enough to splatter 99.9% of everything he'd ever faced, but Boros survived. He didn't even really try on that one. The second one was a test to see how strong Boros was, and that completely obliterated the arm (which was what he was aiming for, I'd wager). He wasn't really trying on that one, either, but it was a bit more focused, and since it actually caused severe damage to Boros, Saitama simply didn't do anything at all until Boros turbocharged himself near the end, after Saitama jumped back from the moon. Since Boros showed he could regenerate and could take a bit more than anyone else Saitama had ever faced, he smacked him again in the stomach, which sent Boros flying and caused pretty severe damage, but he survived, so Saitama did his Consecutive Normal Punches attack, which splattered Boros everywhere -- but he still regenerated. It was only when Boros threatened to destroy the whole planet that Saitama got serious, because he didn't want that to happen, so he unleashed his first Killer Move: Serious Series: Serious Punch. (Better to put some effort in than accidentally do too little and end up with a destroyed planet, so he actually got serious for a moment.) It didn't even make contact with Boros; the shockwave alone hit him so hard that it, combined with Boros using up almost all the energy he had left, made him unable to regenerate, which ended up killing him. The whole fight was Saitama testing Boros to see how hard he needed to sandbag. Turns out, Boros wasn't a threat after all, and Saitama didn't need to try in order to win. He basically felt bad for Boros, because he understood Boros's boredom, since he suffers the same, so he gave Boros an exciting "fight." Otherwise, he probably could've killed Boros in the beginning. Note that even the KM:SS:SP attack was hardly everything Saitama was capable of. It's like having to make the slightest bit of an effort to lift a microwave oven when you can deadlift a cement truck without straining. It's not that you're giving everything you've got or even pushing at all; it's just a slightly awkward load, so you actually have to pay attention to what you're doing.

I personally think that this anime is also part Tragedy. Saitama is desperately looking for something to make him feel again. The very first episode shows a face in his dream we have yet to ever see while he is awake. An enormous and genuine smile after a long and tiring fight to only look up to big bad boss, right before his dream ends... Which is a legit trope of a dream ending just as it was getting good. Saitama is in the pits of despair, and I personally think Genos saved Saitama's life.

If you watch first and last episode back to back, Boros's fight with Saitama repeats some shots and beats from Saitama's fight with subterraneans. He literally gave Boros the fight he's been dreaming of

The Hero is called Metal Knight and Amai(Handsome) Mask respectively. Just to let you guys know, season 1 shows the story of Saitama, but season 2 is about another character mostly and it becomes more like a normal shounen anime but still has some funny bits. Btw I don't know if you guys know this about season 1: - Heavily implied that the kid that Saitama saved fighting crablante in episode 1 was the son of the person who started the hero association, so technically Saitama caused the hero association to exist. - We don't know who destroyed Genos' village for 100%, but metal knight is a suspect. - Boros' collapsing star roaring cannon has the power to obliterate the earth if it had hit, his meteoric burst form was a GOD level threat. - Boros says "so much for prophecies, you were too strong"' there are theories out the that the prophecy was not talking about Saitama, but rather Blast the number 1 S class hero. - One punch man world has many secrets and theories, a main one being the secret behind Saitamas power. If you have the time, rewatch the anime after watching season 2 and you will see a nice touch of foreshadow in the Hammerhead episode. I don't know if that last sentence was like a spoiler, but there are tiny clues here and there so keep an eye out. Very satisfying for us viewers when u pick up on them, or not, you can hypothesise and be wrong and that's okay. Hope you guys enjoy season 2. Can't wait for the reactions
