A really cool detail that's easily missed: When Saitama throws the punch at Genos, it wasn't point blank like it showed after the dust cleared, it was from much further back. You can even see the distance where the cone of the shockwave starts and where they're standing afterwards. Meaning, Saitama threw the punch then dashed to Genos instantly to block the shockwave with his own body to shield Genos from it. Had he not done that, even from that distance, just the shockwave would've obliterated Genos.

I've seen this explanation before but really looking at it, I don't think that happened. You can actually see the start of the shockwave at 14:43. It did not seem like it started further back behind Saitama. If it did, that "circular air" animation around Saitama's fist doesn't make sense. Second, if you pause at 3:08, you can see Saitama right behind close to Genos. Doesn't make sense for him to move right behind Genos, moved further back throw the punch, then move back closer again? Third, if Saitama dashed to get ahead of the shockwave, that dash alone would have created a force and it would have been obvious. Lastly, at the shockwave scene, for a brief moment you can see Saitama's cape. It should have been blowing forward if there was a shockwave coming from behind. So why was Genos not blown away by the shockwave? Because its anime 🤣. Same reason the cone started way behind them but then there's circular wind shape around them which doesn't make sense, all for the dramatic effect. (And yes I was bored when I made this reply 😆)
