This is wonderful. Many of those one room school houses are still around, although most are empty. I hope they all get preserved. George Vreeland Hill

This brings back nice memories. We went to a one room school in the country - the total school population went from 23 down to 7 when I was in third grade. No worries about bullies - the older kids were pretty good at keeping things fair. When I got to town school in fourth grade, we were half a year ahead of the town school kids in our learning!

Wow, as a history lover I love seeing old things like this! It is so cool! I love how the teacher is just watching the boys wrestle. Nowadays you can't even play red rover or cross my ship without a teacher interfering because a kid may get touched the wrong way.

That happened to me too. I always hated to get on the see-saw with some big kid because just about every time they'd try to do something like that.

Boy, does this remind me of A Christmas Story.

I can agree with that!

Nowadays one of the boys parents would be at the school the next day threatening to beat up the teacher or to sue the school.

Those two boys wrestling would be suspended and referred for counseling nowadays. You never see see-saws anymore!
