I have two samples. River A and river B. The samples were collected to determine the effectiveness of phosphate in removing the pollution. The river A data is set in before and after treatment. Same goes for River B. What test should I do?

Paired sample t-test on A and B

exactly what @olowonilara1 says. You have 2 independent samples (the rivers), but the effectiveness of phosphate is tested before and after. So its dependend. But then just for 2 random variables.
