You mentioned using a bite valve now on the 2qt canteen. Do you have a name or a link? I'm not wanting to buy a low profile bladder atm and would rather just add a valve to my 2qt canteen. Regardless thats genius! Gonna rig that up on my patrol pack. P.S. Interesting using the pads and back from an LBV-88 set. Thats neat. H harness is where its at.

It's called a "canteen straw" and are available quite a few places. They come with a simple bite valve but can be upgraded with your preferred components as they use the same hose size as hydration bladders.

I'm not sure if it's available anymore - It's an REI brand keychain compass I picked up way back in my scouting days. It's similar in function to the watch band clip on compasses...compi?
