I have seveal thoughts on this: It was the Earth animals hiding in corners watching him, but staying away from him because they were scared of him. I think the werewolf lived by himself in the mountains to keep other people safe. I wonder what a 3 meter (about ten feet) tall black reptilian alien-turned-werewolf would be like. On another note, what would a werewolf be like on a world with more than one moon, or even in a settlement ON a moon? That would make an interesting idea for a story.

A double sized werewolf with a very tough scaly skin under that thick protective fur coat. Bigger, stronger jaws and claws looking like so many daggers. Many moons ? Many full moons, often one after the other.

Sounds like my cabin it's 5 days walk from the nearest road and I have 13 wolves that live with me. My pack hunts with me and dose not like strangers. since I don't remember anything like this happening and I'm not missing any wolves, so wasn't me. Mine are just wolves not werewolves.
