Great tip...I normally do this but it feels like my elbow will point out every now and again. Would a training aid like the "Smart Ball" re-enforce this (it looks like you really maintain that angle during your back swing once you preset your elbow correctly)?

Great eye opener Eric, went through to my Saved videos... Downswing thought: Am I right in assuming this may also cure chicken wing? It feels like the front elbow should point down post-impact, while my chicken wing feels like it is pointing to the target. This drill would definitely lead to a better post-impact position, and better kept arm structure, wouldn’t it?

So the upper arm rotates in transition, but would it rotate back through contact square the face or stay rotated?
@CogornoGolf4 жыл бұрын
Depends on the face angle... More closed face will keep lead shoulder more internal longer (elbow at target)... More open face will require more external rotation Talk about that here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eJ29o5yLpbVqhNU

Interesting. However, you also have a video with a pro who pushes for the left forearm to be above the right at set up when viewed down the line and tucking the left elbow under isn’t consistent with that.

Hey Benny! I do not see a direct correlation between shoulder internal and external rotation (elbow pointing down or away) and wrist angles (flexion/extension)

@CogornoGolf4 жыл бұрын
Yessir....he used to be much more out in takeaway and more laid off but he didn't steepen the downswing shaft like he does now....he went more under......so he struggled with hooks....which was the main motivation for making the changes over the past few years as far as I know. From what I see he is working with someone new and now seems to be rehearsing moves to get things back on track

Eric, there was a basically unknown but accomplished English Golfer, who was born in the mid-1600s, 200 full years after us Scots invented the game - his name was Isacc Newton - and he lived on the Slice Side of the 1st hole and grew very tired of slicing drives breaking his windows. In the year 1686, he had had enough and placed a sign at the 1st tee with his 3rd law of Golf Motion - For Every Action, There is an Equal & Opposite Reaction. Golfers are incredibly stubborn and have ignored his advice for 300 years - so you are up against it
